Classification: Query
My name is Deborah Nevarez. I am the granddaughter of Gilberto Nevarez and the gret-granddaughter of Francisco Nevarez of Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico (born about 1890) and Natividad Ramirez Natividad of Santa Rosalia de Camargo, Chihuahua. My grandparents were Pentecostal ministers who founded three churches in Los Angeles, CA. They had eight sons, who were the only family in WWII, who had the most family members serving at the same time; they have been wriiten about as well in military history books.

I would like to know if you came across any records in the 19th or early 20th centuries mentioning Francisco Nevarez. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetary in East Los Angeles, but I would like to know more about his family of origin: were they Mestizos? Basque? How long have the Nevarez family been in Durango, since the 18th Century?

Your assistance is very much appreciated.

Thank you,
