Surnames: Vaca, Correa, Escamilla
I'm searching my grandfather's family history and cannot find any records regarding his birth, baptism, his mother/ father or their parents. I've hit a frustrating dead-end.

My grandfather recounted in boarder crossing records, and to me, that he was born in La Ojuela, Durango. It was a mining community, now it's a "ghost town", so I'm stuck w/regard to finding birth records. Any info would be most appreciated, even if it's just a suggestion or guess.

I'll list what I know and hope someone has some kind of familial connection, or any insight, that might help my search:
Lorenzo Vaca Correa- Born: 8/16/1921- La Ojuela, Durango (he had no siblings other than a brother who died very young, around 3 yrs. old)

Lorenzo passed away: 10/29/14- Fallbrook, San Diego Co., California

Mother: Maria Guadalupe Vaca - Lived in/ around La Ojuela in 1920-1921
Mother (Maria) died around 1930 +/- a few years. (parents, birth year, death year, death place- unknown)

Father: Alfredo Correa. According to Lorenzo, his mother and father never married .Based on Lorenzo's boarder crossing records, Alfredo lived in Manzanillo, Colima (around 1940-1941) and somewhere in Baja California (around 1942).

Lorenzo's Maternal Aunt: Felipa Vaca- her name was changed, either by her or incorrectly recorded, as Baca.
Felipa Vaca (Baca) married Juan Escamilla, parents to Pedro Escamilla born around 1930. Pedro is father to Pedro Jr., birth date unknown.

I know Lorenzo and my grandmother (Mary Correa) visited Pedro or Pedro Jr. in Garden Grove, CA as recent as, around, 2004/2005 +/- a few years.

That's all I have. I would love to find out more about my grandfather & his history, but I've been hitting a wall for several years. I've tried searching message boards, several ancestry sites, Durango online records, and have found zero information.

Any help, even if you don't think we're related, would be so helpful and most appreciated.

Thank you,
Melissa Correa-Johnson
