Hi Ruben: I was just wondering what you might have on the Sifuentes and de la Cruz families in Maverick County in the late 1800's early 1990's? The San Miguels married into both these families. Thanks.

Ken

The Lavenants originated in the State of Coahuila, starting with Theodore Lavenant, a French Soldier who arrived in Mexico during the French-Mexican war, in the late 1800's.

Instead of returning to France when the war was over, Theodore traveled north to Durango and Coahuila, where he married twice and became widower, also twice. The larger part of his family comes from his second wife.

In the 1940's Miguel Lavenant Gamez (Theodore's grandson)married Celia Sifuentes Guerra, establishing in Matamoros, Coahuila.

During the 1960's and 70's most of the younger Lavenant migrated to the northwest of Mexico (Tijuana) and even some to the United States, where they established and became a very large family.

About myself: my name is Rogelio Lavenant Jiménez.
My father: Rogelio Lavenant Siguentes.
My grandfather: Miguel Lavenant Gámez
My great-grandfather: Alberto Lavenant
My great-great-grandfather: Theodore (Teodoro) Lavenant.

I'm originally from Crystal City, Texas. My Grandfather was Gustavo Lavenant. Who I understand lived in the Dilley-Pearsall, Texas area also. He had a brother named Eugenio Lavenant, who started a family in Kansas.
