Surnames: Armendariz, Cobos, Cordero, Jordan, Sagarribay, Aramburu, Suloeta, Ladron de Guevara, Olguin, Duran, Ascue y Armendariz, Aranda, Talabera, Ayala, Gutierrez, Nunez, Caburrado, Vera y Mesa, Tuduela, DelaRiva, Granillo, Enriques, Lopes
My research with these names first appears in Jimenez, Chihuahua with the christening of my g-grandfather, Trinidad Armendariz in 1852. The research goes into Valle de San Bartolome and perhaps Hidalgo del Parral and Durango. This covers a span of about 150 years in church records. Need to know who might have a connection with these lines. How may I help you and get some help filling in some blanks and go further back in generations. Also, my g-grandfather married in Camargo, Tamps. in 1878 to Sara Bast DelaGarza. There's more, but I wait to hear from anyone.

Irene, in response to your question of connection to the names mentioned: my grandparents are from Durango. Their names are Damacio & Nicolasa (Guevara) Manqueros. They were born in 1872 and 1893. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I've just started my "quest" to find family roots and history.

God Bless

I am the grandson of a Santago Portillo b. 1875; baptised in San Fernando Church, San Antonio, Texas; The census records of 1880 show him living in La Salle County, TX (County Seat Cotulla). The mother was a widow in 1880. My grandfather could have half brother and sister by the name of Aleman. Happy to share additional information if there is a connection.

Thanks, Tony

Hi Tony,
I think we have no common threads. My Great-grandmother was Refugio Portillo, b. 1877 d. 1925 . I'm assuming in Chihuahua. She was married to Jose Nunez. They lived in a ranch, El Pajarito. Located on the Rio Conchos. Refugio was the child of Jesus Portillo and Virginia rodgriquez.
Jesus was the child of Pablo Portillo and Inez Salcido. I am so new to all this. Any hints? We've ordered records from the Mormans for Hidalgo de Parral and Valle de Zaragosa.
