The photo I have of Pancho Villa with a group of men was taken in 1910. They were the leaders of the revolution. The names of the men (mostly only their last names) are as follows: (Pancho) Villa; Gus. Madero; F.I. Madera, Sr.; Garibaldi; F. Garza; Blanco; S. Azcona; four unnamed men; then Carranza; Gomez; F.I. Madera; Gonzalez; Maytorena; A. Fuentes; and Orozco. One of the Madera's, which the F. stands for Franciso, according to Mexican history, was an eccentric land owner who became the first president after the overthrow of President Porfirio Diaz. Madera was overthrown and assasinated in 1913.

According to family information, Zoylo Blanco was 12 years old and an orphan when Panco Villa befriended him and took him along as his water boy. Zoylo was born 27 June 1898 in Mexico and was living in Chihuahua when Pancho Villa arrived and discovered him. Can you tell me about how old the "Blanco" in your photo is? Would LOVE to have a scanned copy if you have a scanner or would be glad to pay for a copy. Thanks for any info. Lynda Barefield. Email: lynda@ectisp.net

I too am interested in this photo. It may be the same that is on internet and also Bisbee, AZ museum has a copy. I haver a relative that recruited for Garibaldi and was a captain in the Army of Mexico when Garibaldi was a General and have boarder crossing documents of them together. Very intereted in finding out if my relative is one of these unknowns in the photo.

We have family lore that my grandfather Jesus Frank Padilla was Poncho Villa's "water boy". It was a story he told frequently but no one ever knew if it was true. It is known that he had a different birth name and suspected that he changed his name when he was "running" from Poncho Villa. Jesus Frank Padilla is recorded to have been born in 1895-1896 and was married in Greeley Colorado in 1920. So, it seems possible that in 1910 my grandfather was still in Mexico and could have been Zoylo Blanco. If you add 12 years to 1895, you get 1907-1908. That's getting close!

Do you know who the Orozco person was or what he looked like? Is your picture clear enough to actually see these men clearly? My grandfather said he was with Pancho Villa and if he was with him he would have the name Rodriguez Orozco possibly Marin in there someplace? What year do you think that would be?
