In the census, Joseph Edward LOPEZ lists his place of birth as Mexico, His father's place of birth as Spain, & his mother's place of birth as Mexico. I have a copy of the citizen paper, dated 15th July 1895, stating "......late of Campeche Mexico in the Republic of Mexico at present of Tampa......". I also have a copy, from the microfilm of the Tampa Tribune, of the write up when he died stating that he was a native of Campeche, Mexico.
