hello pariente; I was looking for info of my past realitives, i am a desendent of Elena Marron from the Santo domingo, Vicente Guerrero BC area. My grandfather was Porfirio Aviles who was born in San Telmo step brother of Joaquin Martorel son´s of Elena Marron, which was daughter of Juan Marron that came from the Los Angeles side,as i know.
Every year in Santo Domingo the Marron´s make a family reunion i dont rememder what date but easy to find out.

I was told take the main street as you cross the border until you run into a large new shopping mall. Then turn left and go a few blocks to the civic center. It is supposed to be there. Make sure you have a passport before you go.

Hi, my mother’s name is Andrea Collins daughter of Jose Collins Castro and Enriqueta Lucero Collins. They lived in Miraflores, La Ribera, and Las Cuevas. All my family come from that region they moved to Tijuana Baja California, but some stayed in La Paz Baja California. I’ve heard my uncles talked about John Fitzgerald Collins that was baptize as Juan Collins.

I was wondering if anybody could help me. I am looking for information regarding to my 3rd great grandfather John Collins. There is very little information on him and it's possible that he may also have the last name Fitzgerald? All I know is that he was supposedly born in 1796 in London and he traveled to Mexico where he helped found a city and settled down there. I know the information is vague but if anybody has any information it would be greatly appreciated. I'm related through my grandmother, Theodora Collins who lived in Baja California.

The book Guia Familiar de Baja California 1700-1900 by Pablo L. Martinez is also at the L.A library, Occidental College library and UCLA library. I live in L.A. Too. Down in San Diego it is also at El Cajon library. Good luck.

Hola. After taking a long hiatus from my genealogical research,(living family comes first), I've decided to try to pick up where I left off... which led me to your postings.

Reading them again, I have to say "muchos gracias" for helping me fill in a lot of blanks in my Baja searches. Today would have been Cantalicia's 145th??? birthday, (ladies often "tweak" their ages or it could be a simple error in transcription). So, I especially wanted to gratefully acknowledge that it was YOU who miraculously found documents in a little church in Ensenada that named Felix Grin as her father.

Since you say that we do share many surnames on our ancestral tree I would be more than happy to share what data I've been able to acquire.

I find the headstone quite interesting, but unfortunately, I can't make out the entire information :(. My great-great grandfather was a John Collins, but I don't know what relation, if any, this grave may have with my ancestor. I have visited the resting place in Miraflores, Baja California, Mexico, where my great-great grandfather is buried. Can you determine a date from the headstone you discovered in the UK? Do you have the name of the church where you found the headstone?

My 3rd great grandfather was Santiago Quintero born 1831 in Sonora. I am not sure of parents names or actually much else except his spouse (Maria de Jesus Ortega) and children. He lived in Santa Barbara, CA where he lived out his life. I saw your post and wondered if you had a link to him, being that I never have seen Santiago Quintero anywhere else. could he have been a sibling to your Julian Quintero and son of Santiago and Dolores? Any info would be much appreciated, he has been a hard one to find.

There still so many things to clarify with this re-made Californio Surname: Marron.
It is possible that a single couple: Rafael Marrón-Gertrudis Peña have a vast ramifications in both Californias?

Just to metion one of their children: Jose Juan Maria Marron-Peña who married Maria de La Luz Ruiz (August, 1806)
w/some children:
1. Juan Maria (Romualdo) Marrón-Ruiz(1808-1853) m. Felipa Osuna, Children: Maria de la Luz Marron (1836-1894),

2. Ygnacio de Jesus Marron (1838-1919),

3. Sylvestre Marron (1827-1906) m. Leonora Osuna &

4. Francisca Marron (1831-??) m. Leandro Inocencio de Osuna

Etc, etc..., and this ramification only hapens in the San Diego Area. What about in LA, or going South, In El Rosario, Colonia Vicente Guerrero, Ensenada or San Quintin.

If we bring another couple: Juan Marrón b.1800 & Maria de la Cruz Carrillo b.18??
where children names repeated.

Life is not too Short, at least for search This interesting Surname: Marron.

It seems that Luis already gave you most of the information about the Villavicencio family...But it happens that Victoriano and Sebastiana Villavicencio were brothers and first cousins of the rest of the Villavicencio Verduzco...and like all the rest they married fisrt cousin once removed....because all the Aguilar Rodriguez were children of Buenaventura Aguilar Villavicencio, whose mother was Dolores Villavicencio married to Jose Ma. Aguilar, and daughter of Jose Urbano Villavicencio Acebedo and Ma. Hi, Leticia: I tried to answer your message using the email posted, but it was returned. Yes, I am Adolfo's sister, the last of our family. Would love to share more with you. His son is James and his daughter is Annette. I have lost touch with them. Adolfo passed away at age 57 some years ago. Please reply when you can. I believe you and I are first cousins. Our father was Rafael Hill Bareño, died in 1950. He was the oldest of Santiago and Lucrecia's children.

Was your brother Adolfo and if so, I met him while he was visiting my father in San Diego some time in the seventies.
How are his son and daughter, I think James but I am not sure of this daughter's name. I just remember she was working as a legal assistant in Las Vegas at the time.

An early ancestor of mine was named Ursula Banaga, born about 1750. She married Luis Ignacio Aguilar Montano in Loreto. I have not been able to find any information about her parents or any siblings.

I'm not able to travel to Baja California any time soon, so I'd greatly appreciate any information you can share.

Hello. We are probably first cousins. My father was Don Santiago and Lucrecia Hill' firstborn. His name was Rafael and I have information to share. Would like to hear from you. I am trying to locate the burial site of Lucrecia Hill.
According to Dr. John bareño meza's book : The Bareño Link in Terms of Identity, Santiago was buried in Ensenada on the roadside where he died.

I believe Miguel was Manuels son but I can't find anything definite I'm just going by the dates. I found that Manuel was born in El Sagrario, Arequipa, Peru on Dec 26, 1782 to Antonio Amao and Rosa Chabes. I believe he had a brother named Luis Amao but he never moved to Mexico. Manuel and Tereza Also had at least 3 other kids Jesus, Alonso, Jose.
