MARRON, CARRILLO, MILLAN, MAYORAL
Have 25 yrs of Baja California genealogy research to share-particularly interested in pre-1850 families. My personal lines are: MARRON (1750-1900), CARRILLO (pre-1840), MILLAN (1720), and MAYORAL (1750-1840). These people lived in Baja Sur. These are ancestors of those of the same name in my family who lived in northern Baja late 1800s.

My ancestors arrived in California with Father Serra.

Irene, several of my ancestors came to California with the ANZA EXPEDITION. Others were with the military in Baja California. I have some good information on some of them and some good resources.

My gr-gr-gr-grandmother was part of the original Californianos in Alta California. Her name is Maria Dolores Valenzuela and she was married to Dolores Garcia of Mexico. I have a copy of the letter confirming her baptism (written in Spanish) dated 1828. She was a daughter of a soldier in the Santa Barbara Company at the Mission Santa Barbara. She is the mother of Juana Isabel Garcia who resided in Los Angeles with her husband Marius F. Brutinel of France. After his death she was with his brother and remained in Los Angeles until her death in 1910. I would like to learn more about Maria Dolores Valenzuela. Her parents were Luis Maria Valenzuela ans Josefa Rocha Borjorquez. Paternal Grandparents were Manuel Valenzuela and Josefa Albin de Guanajuato. Her Maternal grandparents were Esteban Rocha and Matilde Mora Tucuzal of the San Diego Presidio. If you have any links or questions, please contact me! Thank you! ReneJensen@aol.com
