Hi, I was reading your post on ancestry and I too am a Collins my brothers and me are 5th generation my dads name is Guillermo Collins, which is 84 yrs old now born 6/25/27 in Miraflores Baja California my grandfathers name was Manuel Collins he was born like 1895 and died 1970 my great grandfathers name was Cruz Manuel Collins and my great great grandfathers name was John collins he was a pirate from Ireland and came on a pirate ship. The story is that John Collins and other group pirates among them were Robinson, Fish, Kennedy, and are some among the names that you will still find in La Paz Baja California they later settled married and had children there. I have cousins the are Collins Robinson, anyways the story says that the group of pirates did something wrong and were waiting execution one night they fled the ship hid near the shore days later after searching for them the ship left. Theres a family book, I Know there is a monument statue for John Collins I think in Miraflores I asked my dad if he knew your father in law or he does remember a Rita Collins daughter of Josesito Collins from Miraflores hmm
