Tried this in Feb 2013. They sent back my bank check and told me to contact a consulate. I e-mailed the American Consulate in Mexico (don't remember which one right now) two weeks ago. I haven't heard anything yet.

Do they have an office at that location? Are you in that area or travel there frequently?
To the best of our knowledge, he was not Kumeyaay. He was not native to the Tecate area.

There is only the municipal cemetery in Tecate.Panteón Municipal de Tecate there are 2 of them The one for exclusive cremation is new within 10 years. If he is Kumeyaay, one would have to travel from tribal community to tribal community looking for a headstone in the tribal community cemetary. The groundskeeper in the Tecate cemetery is quite knowledgeable of who is buried there.

My gr-grandfather was Agapito Hernandez Tineo. D.28 Dec 1969
The photo I have looks like he's near a road, or its just curbing from another grave. This was probably taken about 1971.

I am also looking for information on cemeteries in Tecate. My gr-grandfather was buried there in 1969. I have a photo of his headstone, but no real landmarks to help with the location. Can someone at least provide the names of the cemeteries in that area??

Hi-I have been researching the Marrons for over 35 yrs (of both
Californias).

My paternal ancestor was Ygnacio's younger brother, Juan (bapt.
Jose Juan Paz Marron, 1834), who came north with his parents and
siblings from the La Paz area before1840 but after 1837 (when a
daughter is born in La Paz) .

Their father, Juan, ran a ranch in El Rosario in 1840 and in 1851,
the family went north, ending up in Los Angeles. Juan the son married
Juana Blasa Morales in 1856. It was a family member in El Rosario who
told me that he ran the ranch which I have been unable to locate or
confirm. Younger Juan eventually ends up in the San Telmo area where he has children with another woman (1870s).

I have visited many times with the various descendents of Ignacio in
El Rosario, and over 20 years ago met Ygnacio's and Juan's brother.s
(Jose del Rosario) granddaughter, Josefa, in Santo Domingo.

I will be down in the area of El Rosario in 8 weeks and would like to
meet more of Ygnacio's family. Last year I finally located the family (in Phoenix, AZ) of baby brother, Julio, born in 1860, and was given wonderful photos of Julio and youngest brother Francisco Marron.

Can we exchange info? I have over 150 Marrons in my database and that
is mostly Baja California Marrons pre-1930. Haven't gotten many of
the Alta California families in tho they all descend from the same guy
(1760) San Antonio, BCS.

Do you know David Marron in San Diego?

Since you tell me that you're going to El Rosario BCN, I think you may find something interesting about this pueblo/town by going to the blog site of Ingeniero Alejandro Espinoza, this is the blog address: http://elrosariobc.blogspot.com , try to get the post for "Familia Marron" from Enero 2010, also regarding Familia Pellejeros (Verdugo) in the post dated Septiembre 2011.

On mi case from Alta California with Rafael Marron, I belive father of Juan Maria Marron Sr. who was father of Juan Maria Marron Jr, husband of Felipa Osuna (that's what I think, also father of Sylvestre Marron, Jesus Marron, etc.)

Well on my side, My father Manuel Marron Real son of Barbaro Marron Pellejeros, who was son of Ygnacio Marron & Petra Pellejeros (Verdugo) Sevilla

Ygnacio, my greatgreatgrandfather was son of Juan Marron & Maria Elena Carrillo (Murillo) Mayoral.

My question to you, are:

#1.- Is Rafael Marron, who came to San Diego about 1789 the same father of Juan Maria Marron Sr. & Ygnacio Marron of El Rosario, Baja California Norte?

#2.- Do you know the Mother's Last Name For Rafael Marron?

#3.- Since I am direct descendant of Ygnacio Marron Carrillo (Murillo), Would you be interested share information about Marron Family from both, Alta & Baja California?

Looking for children of Salvador Nunez. he was born in Spain, immigrated to Mexico as a child as an adult served with the Mexican Army. He fought in the Mexican Revolution as well as the war of the Cristeros. He was married to Maria Calderon, but had more children with another Lady that lived in Tijuana. I'm looking for the children he had with the other Lady. I do not have her name at this moment, I'm trying to find out what her name is.

Yes, that is what I am looking for. Since they were living in Ensenada I would think that is where his naturalization took place but I could be wrong since I don't know the process for Baja California.

I have all the border crossing cards of the family and the census. If you look for the crossing card of Maria Sara Hale Sigler it states her fathers naturalization date.

Howka, I haven't heard of that village.. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE OF SAN DIEGO AND BAJA CALIF. (KUMIAI).. THE MEXICANS AND WHITES DIVIDED UP OUR INDIAN LAND T THUS the border came into play.. I will check indian records too.. if you would like..sorry for the caps lol fat fingers lol.. i went through so many naturalization records and couldnt find any in san diego.. will check a few other places.. if you want a copy of the baja census with the kids names and her and his.. He was American but Naturalized Mexican. Not sure what Gertrudis Murillo would be but it is said that her father was Indio and her mother was Spanish. Gil Policarpio Murillo and Estefana Careaga. Gerturdis's family is from San Jose De Gracia.

I also found them on a 1930 census of Baja.. it shows she is American.. but that would mean they were still living down there .. rather than being here ..Have you seen that document ?

I am professional geneologist and What confuses me .. is you say he was naturalized in 1923 but the border crossing card doesn't indicate in 1925 that he was naturalized

If they are from down there .. it is Indian country.. our tribe Kumiai or pai pai.. cause things would be listed different..I am looking at the naturalization papers and don't see either of them listed. do see a Hale but their names are different.. was gertrudis an american?

All I know is he was born in Tijuana. I know that my grandmother worked in a bar and when she had my dad she left him at a church his sister went back and got him and raised him till he was 13 until he came here to the US.

His sisters name is Blanca Pena(i think thats her married name) I'll try to get more info

I was born in Oakland CA and I dont know my fathers family very well.

Here is what I know of my fathers side.

My Father is Francisco Jose Lucero, His bday is august or September 1st 1960.

He has older sibling 1 brother and 2 sisters. His mothers name is Alicia Saucedo,I know she is a twin but her twin passed.

I have been working on this family's origins for over 35 yrs and would like to make contact with descendants of Ygnacio Marron (b.1830) & his wife, Petra Pellejero (Verdugo) or any of his brothers. I have been following the coming and going of these family members to and from Alta & Baja California and hope to eventually get a reunion of families-the descendants of Ygnacio's parents!

I visit El Rosario at least twice a year and this March will also be going to San Quintin and Santo Domingo to search for and visit Ygnacio's other family members (of brothers Juan and Jose del Rosario M.).

certified copy of your marriage certificate.
