CEMETERIES - TIJUANA/TECATE, B.C.

Surnames: GONZALEZ, MORALES
Can anyone tell me how to locate and access cemetery records in Tijuana and Tecate, Baja California? Searching for my father-in-law's father who left the family while my father-in-law was a young child. Would like to locate the final resting place of his father named Samuel Gonzalez Morales, who lived in either Tijuana or Tecate in the 1940s and 1950s. Perhaps died in the 1960s or 1970s. Samuel was born on 11-9-1901 in Nogales, Veracruz, Mexico. He operated a store called Abarrotes La Chiquita (address 375 street unknown) in either Tijuana or Tecate from about 1947-1957 (possibly later). Any information concerning Samuel Gonzalez Morales would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

I am also looking for information on cemeteries in Tecate. My gr-grandfather was buried there in 1969. I have a photo of his headstone, but no real landmarks to help with the location. Can someone at least provide the names of the cemeteries in that area??

My gr-grandfather was Agapito Hernandez Tineo. D.28 Dec 1969
The photo I have looks like he's near a road, or its just curbing from another grave. This was probably taken about 1971.

There is only the municipal cemetery in Tecate.Panteón Municipal de Tecate there are 2 of them The one for exclusive cremation is new within 10 years. If he is Kumeyaay, one would have to travel from tribal community to tribal community looking for a headstone in the tribal community cemetary. The groundskeeper in the Tecate cemetery is quite knowledgeable of who is buried there.

Do they have an office at that location? Are you in that area or travel there frequently?
To the best of our knowledge, he was not Kumeyaay. He was not native to the Tecate area.
Thank you so much for the name, I truly appreciate it.

But there is a old classic computer that keeps records of most of the people that were berry there they are open from 9:00 to 4:00 weekdays. It is very slow but you might find what you need. Hi Max,
I'm from the Los Angeles area as well. Would love to go search, only I do not have a VISA.
That is sad to hear of the flooding. I hope my abuelito did not float away!
If you ever make it down there, I hope you remember this thread...and I hope you'd be kind enough to look him up for me. :) I'd truly appreciate it.
