Re: Need help in finding Central Calif. Valdivia's
I too am just starting out! I get "Valdivia" from birth. My paternal grandfather was named Inocencio Valdivia and I believe my paternal grandmother was Concepcion or Charlotte Valdivia (not sure of her first and last name). It's been a challenge finding info on both grandparents or generations before them, because both grandparents died at different times in different accidents leaving my aunts and uncle as well as my dad orphaned. But from what I understand both grandparents originally came from Spain to Mexico then California. Most of my Valdivia relations live in Central California, but few Valdivia's are scattered in the bay area and So Cal area in California. Are there any others of you who have Valdivia relations in Central California? What I wrote sounding familiar? Please e-mail:)

Re: Need help in finding Central Calif. Valdivia's
Looking for a Marcela Valdivia in the Los Angeles area. Her birth year would be around 1903. She was from a wealthy or somewhat wealthy family. She married abt. 1918 at the age of 15 to Adolfo P. Fernandez. She died about 1933 in Los Angeles. Only other known name of a relative is Rosa who would have been born about 1910. No other known info on her or her family at this time. I do have a photo of the marriage party which includes 11 other women, 2 girls and the best man along with the bride and groom. If anyone thinks they may be connected to this family I will gladly share the photo. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Valdivia's from Calvillo, Aquascalientes
My husband is a Valdivia born in Calvillo, Mexico, Samuel Valdivia. His father was Guillermo Valdivia-Martinez. His mother is Luz Maria Esqueda-Velasco also from Calvillo. My husband came to the U.S. in 1976. He spent his first years in the U.S. in California. He has been here in Oklahoma since the 80's. He has aunt Esperanza and uncle Uriel in California . His fathers brother and sister. His grandfather was Anastacio Valdivia-Gallegos of Calvillo. All he knows about his grandmother is that her name was Luz Maria Martinez-Sausevo and they called her Chita.
