Hello Richard:
I have the record of this marriage from the index of the St Mary's Catholic Church
Register.
I have many pages of actual records from the Church, but, nothing that early I'm afraid.
Onesime
GRAVEL & Marie
FORTIN were married June 27, 1900.
Neither set of parents were named. This is quite unusual for this index.
Guests/Witnesses were Jolk? TREMBLAY & Wilfrid
TREMBLAY.
According to the 1901 Census, Onesime as born circa 1872. In 1881 there is an Onesime
GRAVEL born circa 1872 in Quebec, parents Alphe & Louise.
There is a Charles
Gravelle, aged 64, living on Bonanza
Creek, Yukon in 1901.....Onesime & Mary are also living on Bonanza
Creek in 1901. There are a Frederick
TREMBLAY & a George
TREMBLAY living with them (partner & lodger)
Their son Joseph Alfred Onesime, was born Jan 5, 1902. Godfather is listed as Charles GRAVEL.The Godmother is listed as Mme Emelie
TREMBLAY, represented by Marie Agnes BINET.
Found something interesting in Quebec in 1901....Louise
GRAVEL (wife to Alphe & mother to Onesime in 1881)is listed by a researcher as nee
TREMBLAY. Alphe is listed/corrected as Alphee
Olivier, son of Louis
Anselme & Julie
GALIEN.
Seems to point fairly strongly to Onesimes mother being Louise
TREMBLAY & his father being Alphe/Alhphee
GRAVEL?
Mary/Marie
FORTIN is too common a name to tackle!:-)
Hope this is of some help.
