Re: Rieger of Grayson Sask. Families
Hi, not sure if you will receive this message, but I just viewed your message from a few years ago.
Not sure if it the person you are looking for, however, my Mom's Mom had a letter from 'Jack' Reiger, then in Germany, written to the Homemaker's Club of Saskatchewan to thank them for all the parcels that had sent to the Boys during the War. I see his name listed as Jacob Reiger, who at that time lived in the Corning, Saskatchewan district, his parents, Anton and wife, had moved to Corning in the 1930's. They had come from Grayson, SK and area. I see that Jacob Reiger worked for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool after the War. - Paul Buchanan

Re: Rieger of Grayson Sask. Families
also.. Casper Regier and Jacob (Jack) Regier both served in the War and are listed on a plaque in the Corning, Saskatchewan Hall along with all others who were in the Services during the War from that District. This information is listed in the Golden West Book of 1981 or 82 for Corning and District. - Paul Buchanan

one more item, Jacob Reiger, Re: Rieger of Grayson Sask. Families
Hi, again, not sure if this is the person who you are searching, however:
Jacob Reiger (note spelling) was one of 10 children born to Anton and Mary Reiger. Both Anton and Mary were born in Austria and camp to Canada as children. They moved from either Grayson or Oakshela, SK to Corning, SK in the mid 1830's. The parents may have moved back to Oakshela as one son Tony did so. Oakshela, SK is just off the Trans-Canada Hwy between Broadview and Grenfell. They appear to have moved to Rutland, BC and retired there, where one of their children and family lived. - Paul

Re: Zimmer name in Grayson
I am researching Zimmer family in/from Grayson. So many Adam's, & Joseph's, and Peter's and Frances's and John's & George's... it is most confusing. The person I am trying to help says her ancestors came over as 6 boys and widowed mother. Would guess some time in the late 1800's. Marion Ottenbreit married Francis Krupi and their daughter married John Zimmer, son of Frank Zimmer and Mary. Gertrude Ziimer fromDerelui, Bezirk Czernowi*, Bukovina Galicia, Austria-Hungary generation married Anton Ottenbreit. Am trying to sort through census, voters lists and obits but some insider info would greatly help. There is a connection to an Anton Zimmer who married Clara Linfit who later lived in Hinton AB. My database so far is fragmented and would love to be able to connect the dots.

Re: Zimmer name in Grayson
Search the history book site, I used ZIMMER GRAYSON and 9 books showed up. After you open each book click on the page numbers. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/ Not a lot of info, but a couple of short bios and some tidbits. Most of the books were published in the 80s. Butch
