In my wife's Zaplitney research, I have a Nellie Stephniphyn who married Dan Zaplitney and they farmed two miles north of Tiny. Spelling is different, but it is pronounced the same. Check this website for Zaplitney Research and you will more data.

Do a search on the interest for the complete book, The Hands of Time......your surname is in it.

Please post or e-mail me if there is a connection....

If you look in the historical book, The Hands of Time, which can be found on the internet, there are several write-ups on the Stefanyshin family - pages 718 - 721. Metro is included with a photo of he and his wife, Dora.

Does anybody have any info on a Nellie Stefanyshin (1903 - 1970)who married Dan Zaplitney in 1920.

Hi Norm. I could not get to read The Hands of Time on the internet. Can you give me instructions please.
Sorry, I do not have a Zaplitney in my tree.
I have a Nelisa Stefanyshin born about 1910, daughter of Wasyl Stefanyshin and Paraskevia (Pawline) Shumei. They lived in the Drobot region.
Bev.

Hi Bev,

The Hands of Time is located at: http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=3613

Here, you should be able to search and go to any page.

On page 720, there is a write-up and photo of Wasyl Parascevia....written by Metro. When they immigrated to Canada in 1909, with their children, Nykola, Magda, Anna, and Petro, they settled on their homestead at SW Sec 5, TP 30, R 6, west of the 2nd Meridian. They had two more children, Ivan in 1913 and Metro in 1915.

If you travelled 2 miles west of the Stefanyshin homestead and then 1 miles north, you would be at my wife's original ancestry homestead, John & Nettie Zaplitney.

Hope this helps out....

Norm
