Classification: Query
Surnames: Carleton, Phelps, Fadden
Clayton Alton Carleton, son of Charles Addison Carleton and Anna Julia Phelps, was born 25 Aug 1891 in Kerkhoven, Swift County, Minnesota. Clayton married Lillian Hawkins on 22 Mar 1922 in Dryden, Canada.

They had five children: Kenneth Andrew Carleton (b. 14 Jan 1923, Cadalliac, Canada), Stanley Phelps Carleton (b. 9 Apr 1924, Cadilliac, Canada), Marion Carleton (b. 14 Nov 1926, Cadilliac, Canada), George Addison Carleton (b. 10 Oct 1930, Bracken, Ontation, Canada), and Ethel Mae Carleton (b. 26 May 1935, Bracken, Ontario, Canada). I am not sure of this information since I do not have a primary source. I'd appreciate verification and source information if you have it.

I would very much like to share any information you have on the Carleton line in Canada. Charles Addison Carleton was my 2nd Greatgrandfather, I am descended from Clayton's younger sister, Esther C. Carleton (b. 20 Aug 1894 Kerkhoven Swift County, Minnesota; d. 16 Aug 1942, Wayzata, Hennepin County, Minnesota) and Earl Winfred Fadden (b. 25 Jan 1892, New Auburn, New Auburn Township, Sibley County, Minnesota; d. 10 Oct 1973, Metropolotin Medical Center, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota). They were married 20 Jan 1914 in Aitkin, Aitkin County, Minnesota and had seven children: Leroy Orville, Floyd Maurice (my Grandfather, d. 1994), Doris Ellen (d. 1941), Florence Amy, Alvin (1922-1923), Avon Lee ("Bud" d. 1990)and Jeanne Audry.

Since the Carleton's moved to Canada, I haven't had much luck tracing their descendants. I'd appreciate any contact and information sharing you'd like. I look forward to hearing from you. Attached is a picture taken in 1928 of Earl and Esther.
