I am so intrigued by this story... Nick and Natalie were/are my grandparents. My Mom says there was another Werezak family living in Saskatchewan, and her Werezak family and them had conversed as to whether they were related and weren't. Then again, this is just me speculating, but judging by Shirley's middle names, my grandpa did have a sister Anne. She was given up to Baba Buzak's(Marie) mother, who wanted another baby, and Marie had so many already(11), according to my grandpa's other sister, Rose. It's possible that, because Baba's mother was older than Baba, she could've died twelve years before the birth of Shirley. Anne was integrated back into the family at some point, because Rose said she remembered making fun of Anne for the way she dressed, having been raised by their grandmother. So, maybe, she resented Baba for sending her to live with her mother and that's why she stayed with aunts, due to things at home being rough? It's weird, because I had a child "out of wedlock", too, (at twenty-one, though), and was eventually forced to give him up for adoption, because the social worker used the excuse of domestic disharmony between my Mom and I to apprehend him(even though we'd patched things up by then) It's sort of like history repeating. My Grandma also told me I should have an abortion before that and compared me to a hooker, because you just don't have a baby when you're unwed in a Ukrainian family, lol! Also, maybe, there's only five siblings of Shirley's birth mother listed in the adoption records, because it was a small town, and they didn't want to be recognized as the family, with a daughter who gave up a child for adoption at nineteen, and if they mentioned all eleven, someone would be bound to? Again, just all speculation(I have been told I have a vivid imagination), but who knows?
