Thank you Jamie. I have that info mostly from my grandmother herself. The 1901 and 1911 censuses were what caused me to ask for the look up. According to my grandmother (Mathilda) and the headstones I've located, the dates were: Peter and Margaret 1872. Mathilda 1893, Mathew 1895, Katherine 1900, Selma 1903, Frank,1904, Florence 1908.I was told only Mathilda and Mathew were born in Russia and they came to Canada in 1896. If they did come in 1899 re the 1911 census, then Henry and Jacob could have been born there as well. The reason I thought they were born in Canada was because there is the gap of years between Mathew and Katie (travelling?) and another between Frank and Florence. My grandmother remembered the deaths well, so I thought she might have been older than six when they happened. It would be interesting to find the 1906 census.

I found the Seelinger family on the 1901, 1906, 1911 and 1916 censuses. (The spelling is a real challenge.) I haven't yet found them on the 1921 which is just newly out. The babies aren't on the 1901 census or any after. On the Sask. BMD site I found a Henry Celing born June 07 1899 but no date of death. The surname isn't correct but the parents names are too close to ignore. I'm trying to confirm the info with a church but no luck so far. On the same BMD site they list Catharina born 1900 and Frank born 1904 but I still can't find Selma (1903) or Florence (1908).

Hi, The Govt of Sask. Vital Events site - online - is Not Complete
Perhaps contacting the Provincial Archive - would be helpful - they may hold reference to births /marriage/deaths - in the early time frame.

OR: Contact the Govt Vital Stats office - they may offer some help/ information - without requiring a fee for service

Note that some Govt papers have Surnames etc - not spelled correctly. Same with Census - where the enumerator spelled the names - as heard.

Contact the following - for known Cemeteries - in the early years. etc
City of Prince Albert
1084 Central Ave.
Prince Albert, SK S6V 7P3
Phone 306-953-4800

BAPTISM: - do you know what religion the family followed - what was available at the early times

NOTE: Deaths
Burial at South Hill Cemetery - Perhaps other family members -were previously also buried at this cemetery
SEELINGER , Margaret nee FROHLICH
July 17 1872 - August 27 1958
SEELINGER, Peter

You are absolutely brilliant! I spent ages trying to find it and you did it overnight. Thank you! Yes, Theresa Sullivan was their granddaughter. The others must have been living near jobs. The mother of Peter Seelinger was Margaret Bentz. The mother of Mathilda was Margaret Frolich. The mother of Fred Bukowsky was Elizabeth Neumann. Whoever made out the death certificate was a bit confused. Thanks again. If you can find the others (Matt, Katie,Selma/Betty, Frank or Florence) anywhere I would appreciate that too.

Yes, those re the correct people buried at South Hill. They are the only family buried there. When the Seelingers first arrived in Canada in 1899 they were living in Balgonie. The birth 1899 of the Henry Celing I found is registered there. The family was Roman Catholic and I wrote to the Regina archdiocese but never received an answer. The next child Catharina b. 1900 is registered in Regina. I can't find Selma Elizabeth born 1903. Frank born 1904 is registered in Hague. Can't find Florence b. 1908. The homestead farm was near Hague, applied for in Rosthern 1908 with district listed as Prince Albert. Peter worked on the Railroad and retired to Prince Albert. I assume little Henry would have been buried in Balgonie. I can find no record of a Jacob though his existence is oral family history. Some say Henry and Jacob were twins. Since they were only a few months old when they died, it's possible there were no markers on the graves. I will try again to contact the church archives and if that doesn't work, I'll try the Vital Stats office. Thanks for your assistance. Florence

Hi Florence
If you eventually decide to order any documents - Birth Marriage Death
Order the REGISTRATION - or Genealogical Registration -
Rather than the CERTIFICATE

The Registration has all of the Personal Information as required at the time - and as known to the Informant
The Certificate is an Extract of Basic Information taken from the Registration
Good for Proof of the Event without disclosing personal information - to those with No Need to Know.
