I live in Abernethy Sk. There was a Duffy here in the time frame you are speaking of. His name was John Duffy and he owned and operated a livery and feed business here. I haven't been able to find the name of his wife but so far have learned he had three children named Elizabeth(Lizzie), Vera and william (Bill)
I was born a Duffy in Toronto and searching for my birth family who may have been from this area. I have not been able yet to find out what happened to the john duffy family. Hope this helps
Sincerely,
Rae Irene Duffy

Shirley

I know that you posted in 2005, but I am just starting out on this journey. My grandfather's name was Hazen (Hazan). His parents names were Henry and Mary. Hazen married my grandmother Ada Wallace, though I am told that they were divorced at a young age. Hazen had brother Donald (abt 1907), Sister Jean (abt 1910), brother William (abt 1912). My father's name was William Donald Kruse. He was born in Saskatoon. My father's siblings were Doug and Calvin. I have Henry and Mary immigrating from the USA in 1908 and moving to Gull Lake/Maple Creek Sask.

Please contact me if you receive this and wish to discuss further.

Rob Kruse

My search did only show one result: an memorial for "Harold Arthur Ekdahl, born in Hallonquist, Sask. who died in october 2012. The area is correct, but I have not found him or his parents names among the persons in my familytree.
Maybe he is related but I have no idea how?
Why doesn´t more hits show up in my search??

I am however quite shure, that there are no connections between "my" Ekdahl and the Ekdahl who lives/lived in Illinois. (There are many of them.)

I am very curius about what You read about Mayor Harold Ekdahl, Rockglen. Can You give me another way to reach this information?
I am very thankful for Your help. Best regards /Eva

Then on page 2 is an item about Willard. At the top of page 1 is an item about another Harold, but I couldn't connect him to the family. Butch

Hi Eva, I found a biography of Harold and Sara in this book on-line. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=2715 Do an Ekdahl search in the book and click on page 146 for the start of the bio and 147 for the end (the numbers may still be there from my search). The other pages may have photos and etc. I'll look for more info. Butch (board volunteer)

Sorry. I was wrong about the sender of the letter.
His name was "Harold Ekdahl". His adress is on Willow avenue in Moose Jaw. (I also have the number.)

Harold Assar Ekdahl had a son, also with the name "Harold". I think he passed away 1950.
- Who can the sender of the letter be year 1961? Is there another "Harold" in the next generation?

I am looking for descendants from Harold Assar Ekdahl who was born in Sweden 1886. He died 1961 in Moose Jaw and is burried (with family) in Rosedale Cemetry. I have an envelope sent from his son Edward Ekdahl from year 1961, when Assar died. Adressed to my grandfather.

Harold Assars father Pehr Jönsson also left Sweden before him.
- My grandfather (fathers side) was one brother of Harold Assar.
- I would be very glad to have contact with someone who knows about the family Ekdahl in Moose Jaw.
I live in Sweden. Best regards/ Eva Jonsson

Hi, It is Possible - that the husband of Nora Fern WALSH nee TATE - may have enlised in the first world war Expeditionary forces.
Perhaps the reason she was living with her parents at the time - she was a very young woman. born 1900 and dcd 1918.
Would be natural for her to stay with her own family.

Searching Libraries and Archives Canada - Soldiers of WW1 - shows 544 WALSH enlistments.

I have a letter from Fern to her sister that was sent a month and two days before she passed. There is no mention of a husband in it and she was still living with her parents.
Thanks again!

I have a partial obit for her and at the bottom it says "Shaunavon Standard please copy". I have emailed a museum in Shaunavon that has all the copies of that paper. Hopefully I can get a full obituary and maybe that will give me a clue to her husbands name. I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me.
Thanks.

I have a partial newspaper obituary but her husbands first name has been cut out. She died on Dec 17th, 1918 from influenza. She is buried in the Moose Jaw City Cemetery. Her husbands last name was Walsh. They couldn't have been married long. Her parents were Julien Edward and Sarah Ellen Tate. Any help with her husbands first name would be greatly appreciated.

Hello I am also trying to find Henderson relatives, father was a Robert Henderson Born Dec 17, 1921. He never spoke of his family so this search has proven to be hard as I have not been able to find birth certificates who my grandfather or uncles could have been etc. my father was born in Saskatchewan not sure where but we think crane valley area..my father we know was married name unknown and had 2 children names unknown but have heard the names Calvin and George when younger child so this may be possible children names thru first marriage or maybe brothers or half brothers to my dad Robert? Us 3 kids Robert, George, Rosemarie being born to my mother Mary Harahuc. My father Robert and mother Mary never married due to this first marriage we do believe as the issue never came up till there deaths and when we went to have them buried together and couldn't as both parents passed in different months of 1985 in Vancouver BC, Canada. We have information that my grandmothers name may of been Flora Moerkerk...not sure if moerkerk was a remarried name or maiden name. My father was enlisted in the Navy for Canada back in the war. Any information that could help me out in beginning my search would be greatly appreciated.

No, sorry the Newberry Cemetery is not in Moose Jaw. I will check around and see if anyone knows if there have been any photos taken of the headstones by anyone else.

Mike DIDYK in Dundurn

I'm researching the DIDYK from the Cudworth area and believe that the Mike DIDYK found in the 1974 Voter list might be part of the family. The Mike I'm after was born abt 1918 in Cudworth. I have no info on him afterwards other than listing as four yr old in mothers probate. Parents would be John and Catharina DIDYK from the Ukraine.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Thanks,
RONC

the Moose Jaw Branch of the Genealogical Society has taken photos of all of the headstones in the Moose Jaw cemeteries. We did Rosedale this summer and I did the photos in this Block and there is no headstone for Albert Armand Ahier.
