Is there anyone out there who may have known Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Spicer) KRUSE? They immigrated to Canada around 1909 with two children, Donald Justin (born 1906) and Hazen; they had two more children, Jean (born 1910) and George William who were born in Tuxford, Saskatchewan.
George William Kruse is my husbands father and we require any information that anyone may be able to share with us. George was born on April 19, 1911 in Tuxford, Saskatchewan and grew up in the area and possibly in Saskatoon; also,he was a hairdresser in Saskatoon. He married Laura Dagmar Bannatyne at St. Andrews Church in Saskatoon on August 29, 1931 and they were both 21 years of age. They had two children, Joan Eileen born in 1932 and Gerald Kitchener born in 1937 Kruse; possibly Joan started school in Saskatoon and they lived on Duchess Street in Saskatoon.
George moved his family to Port Colborne around 1938 in search of employment. Unfortunately, he was killed on the New Years Eve of 1940/41; he was a pedestrian struck by a motorist in the early hours of January 1st 1941.
If there is anyone out there that may have known this family, I would appreciate a respond; we are gathering data for our Family Tree and vital statistics cannot find a registration of the birth for George William Kruse and he states on his Marriage Certificate that he was born in Tuxford, Saskatchewan and that he was 21 years old.
Also, we believe that Henry had a brother-in-law, Riley Edgar Spicer who may have moved to Canada too; either to Saskatchewan or Ontario.
Thank you,
Shirley Kruse
