Hi
I wonder if your Sadie Lewis is the person I have as married to James Joseph Moody b 30 June 1882 in Big Island Lake, Winnipeg, Manitoba and died 11 May 1945 in Selkirk. My notes show him married to Sarah Edna Lewis b 1 June 1883 and died 29 December 1928. I do not know about any descendants but have a little bit more about the Moody ancestors.
Cheers

Sarah Grace Broatch was married to my grandfather, Alfred John Wickens and they had one daughter, Ellen Grace Wickens.

Grace died on Nov 1918 of the swine flu.

Is Sarah Grace Broatch a brother to Nelson Broatch (Barrister). I hoping to find the location where James O. and Caroline (Daniel) Lewis and Nelson and Jennie Lewis are buried. It could be Selkirk, Manitoba area or Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

Dear Doug

In the Henderson Directories in the Moose Jaw library, the Broatch's first appear in Moose Jaw in 1911. In 1912, 6 of them, Allister (law student), Angus (clerk), George (auctioneer in 1911 and farmer in 1912), George N. (lawyer), Grace (steno) and James W. (real estate) are listed living together.

George N. may be your Nelson, a lawyer. I did not record for the Broatch's after 1920 since Grace, my grandfather's first wife, had died in 1919.

The Broatch's have a cemetery plot in the old cemetery in Moose Jaw at 9th Ave. E. and Caribou Street. Grace is buried there as is George and also a baby Wickens who was stillborn to my grandfather A.J.Wickens (a lawyer who articled with Broatch) and his second wife.

The only Lewis family that I knew in Moose Jaw growing up was a Jewish family and as far as I know they are still living there.

Maybe you can find someone in Moose Jaw who could research the Henderson Directories at the library and the cemetery at 9th and Caribou (Ican't remember its name as it was closed to new burials long ago).

I see that you have U.E. designation. My husband is in the process of getting his designation. His ancestors were of German stock and came to Prince Edward County, ON as UEL.

Good luck on your quest,
Ellen

Pembroke--what a small world. After Sarah Broatch died of swine flu in 1919, my grandfather AJ Wickens married Edna May Fraser of Westmeath. A second cousin, Karen Timm, still lives in the Fraser house in Westmeath.

Would love to hear from you.

Lots of info in the history books on-line in http://www.ourroots.ca/e/ I did a Broatch search and 26 books showed up. When you open the books the page numbers with Broatch show up and can be clicked on. I only read Sask books and partly, but the lawyer, Nelson, and others seem to be related. Butch
