Retired Beach Gal? Betty Lou, you slay me. This is your cousin Susan Broatch in Vancouver: daughter of Don, granddaughter of G.N. Broatch & Jeanne Lewis(Moose Jaw): I have a stack of Broatch & Lewis family documents(including Oscar & Carrie) that I can send as email attachments if this is of any interest: I gave hard copies to cousin Nikki on her last visit here: my nephew has dug up a patent application made by G.N. in 1912: and yes, GN's sister married his law partner. I have also heard from the Australian branch of the Broatch Clan. Fuimus! Susan

This is my second attempt to reply. My first apparently went into cyber space somewhere. It was absolutely fantastic to hear from you and yes, I would love any info you have and are willing to share! I have started a "group" on facebook called "Broatch clan". Anyone is welcome to join. I kind of think Don might be on it. The Meyler girls and Jolly girls and Trish are on it and most recently, Heather, Gayle and Spencers daughter. She has a bunch of GN's photo albums which she is sharing. Great fun. Come join us! And stay in touch.

I avoid Facebook, Betty-Lou: it scares me! [The reason people were puzzled a few years ago by the Moose Jaw gang is because the Census had the last name transcribed as Blounch...I submitted a correction to Ancestry in 2008 and now everybody can find them under Broatch...]: would love to see some of GNs photo album contents: I'd like to put some of the old photos in my Ancestry family tree: if you get my home email from cousin Niki & send me yours, I'll send you docs & photos! my love to Nelson, George, and Matthew!

Susan,
I am not really your clan, but my grandfather, AJ Wickens was the partner who married Sarah Grace Broatch. They had one daughter Ellen Grace before Sarah died of the swine flu. Some of Ellen's children live in Vancouver. Any interest in following this up--email me at ellenreid289@gmail.c0m

There is a nice write-up on Alfred J. Wickens in a book on-line called Saskatchewan and it's People. It starts on page 1466. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=720 If you do a Wickens search in the book you can just click on the page numbers. Butch (board volunteer)

Just to add to the community here, this is Linda Broatch, daughter of George Kenneth, brother of Donald and Nelson Lewis Broatch.
I have some census informtion from Scotland on the William Broatch family, our GGG grandfather, who lived in Dumfrisshire in the mid-1800s. Also some photos of the Great grandparents my dad recently dug out of a closet.
Is this an official Broatch search group? ;-) If so, I'd like to join. I've been working on my mother's line, but recently dug into the Broatch family.

Cheers,
Linda Jean Broatch

Hi Linda; Betty Lou here. I don't know much about this site, but we have collected some of the cousins on facebook. I created a group that anyone can go to. If you are on fb, go to the group "Broatch clan" and you will find Tricia, the Jolly girls, Heather Broatch (daughter of Spenser and Gayle) I can be reached at retiredbeachgal@yahoo.com
