The Lobodici family resided on a farm just outside of Hamilton Ontario called Westover. My grandfathers name was Peter Lobodici and my fathers name was Contantin ( Thomas ). My grandfather was married at one time to Dominica who died in 1941. They had several children, some died at a young age. all children have died but there names as I recall were John, Peter, George, Constantin ( Thomas ), Mary, Dorothy,. The family came to the Hamilton area from Montreal after arriving from Romania.

My father did not speak a lot about his pevious marriages but I think he was married at one time to a girl named Jenny who I think died. He then left to Detroit and married a woman named Helen . When that marriage failed he returned to the Hamilton area and married raising a family of myself and a brother.

Thank you for replying. It is exhilarating every time there is a lead that might help in finding out my ancestry.
The given names you mentioned are not familiar to me but maybe they will lead somewhere else.
My grandmother Cleonfira Craciun married Constantin Cojocariu, had a family of which my Dad was the youngest. At aged 4 Constantin died, and Grandmother married George Lenchuck. My father was raised with the name Lenchuck although his siblings were known as Cojocari. In 1941 My grandmother signed an affadavit which I have and her name on it is Cleonfira Lobodici.
I know that my Dad's family lived in Hamilton in his school years. In later years he and his sister Angeline lived in Niagara Falls and that is where my Grandmother died, living in Angeline's home.
Dad's siblings were Jim, Bill, Jenny, Angeline, Steve that I know of.
So far I can find nothing on my grandparents, from where they came other than they were Romanian, when or where they entered Canada. My Dad was born in Dahinda, Sask in 1916. I have not yet found any marriage or death records either. Anything you can tell me or suggest would be very much appreciated.

My grandmother was Cleonfira Cojocariu (nee Craciun) and I am searching for any information I can find on my family. She also married George Lenchuck and Peter Lobodici. She lived in Dahinda, possibly Preeceville, Hamilton and Niagara Falls Ontario.

I would be most pleased to hear from you using my email bbs.erin@gmail.com

Thanks. Pat

Cojocari is one of the names in my ancestry. Grandfather was Constantin Cojocariu and Grandmother was Cleonfira Craciun. Father Alex Lenchuck was born Ilie Cojocariu.

Would be most pleased to hear if you have any information for me. You can reply to bbs.erin@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Geana:

I got your address from the ancestry site. I had been communicating with Yvonne last year trying to sort out some ancestry details. She had mentioned you had a lot of info. I have e mailed her again but have not had a response lately. Hope everything at her end is okay.

So since I found your address I'll ask you if you have any suggestions or information that can help me to sort out this confusion.

Yvonne has an Eli Cojocari born from Cleonfira & Constantin on March 16, 1916 in Dahinda Sask.

My father was born Ilie Cojocari from same parents, same date, same small town but the siblings are not the same.

Yvonne's family has the parents immigrating to the US where they died and were buried there.

I believe my grandmother Cleonfira died in Niagara Falls Ontario while living with her daughter Angeline and is buried in Hamilton Ontario.

I have a copy of my dad's birth certificate and an affadavit from my grandmother, Cleonfira where in she is confirming my dad's birthdate and his name. This affadavit is dated in 1941. At that time she is married to a Peter Lobodici and some of the Lobodici remaining family remembers her. They lived then in Westover, Ontario not far from Hamilton. My dad went to primary school in Hamilton and I have school diplomas showing that.

Would you have anything that could help me to sort this out. I don't want to be pursuing the wrong family tree. I can find absolutely nothing on my grandparents.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you. Tried emailing you at ggberar35@aol.com but it came back undeliverable.

Hi! I just came across this thread, although I know it's quite old and see that you had been in contact with a few people regarding the Cojocari and Craciuns. I am related to them and have been working with a number of people on the family tree. You can view my tree called The Brailean Family Tree or send me an email.

I don't know if everyone who responded to this thread will get notification, as I would like to connect with them too and could share information.

Looking forward to your response.
