My Great Grandparents were Fred Draper and Lucy Peakman Draper. They both are buried in Moose Jaw. Are you a family connection? They both came from Birmingham England.

Hi Diana,

Read your posting re the Draper/Peakman family. I was in contact some time ago with a James and Ethel Peakman from Airdrie, Alberta. Ethel believed that my Grandfather, George Peakman, born in Yorkshire was a cousin to Lucy Peakman (Draper) who emigrated to Canada in 1905. She mentioned other cousins, Arthur, Charles, Violet, Sophie, Nell, James. Ethel told me that her husband James was raised by his aunt Lucy. She also mentioned a Hilda Peakman born about 1918 in Birmingham and a Dennis Peakman in Coventry.

Ethel was going to get back to me with more information, but we have since lost contact. Not sure whether they don't have a computer any more or have moved, but I do know that they have a son James, who lives here on Vancouver Island.

My Peakmans hailed from North & West Yorkshire, but my ggg-Grandfather Thomas Peakman was born in Walsall, Staffordshire. If you'd like any more information on my side of the family drop me a line.

Cheers!

Hi

Just came across your post and discovered I have a Lucy Peakman (born 1881) in Kings Norton, Worcestershire in my tree. Her father was Matthew James Peakman (1848-1934) born in the Birmingham area. He is 2nd Cousin 3x removed of my wife, a Peakman herself.

Would their be a family connection?
