Surnames: Alspaugh, Bachelder
Searching for descendants or relatives of William Henry Bachelder. "Bill" Bachelder moved from Castalia, Iowa to a homestead near Luseland, Saskatchewan in the spring of 1911 with 8 of his 11 children. He was most likely inticed to the move by the Luse Land and Development Co., of St. Paul, MN. Bill's oldest son, William "Roy" Bachelder was already married as was Bill's oldest daughter, "Floy Alspaugh". Roy and Floy and their families moved with Bill. A few years later Bill moved south to a farm near Empress, Alberta (but still in Saskatchewan). Bill died in January of 1932 and is buried in or near Empress. Bill's son Roy had 12 children. Roy later moved to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Roy died in 1969 and is buried in Red Deer, Alberta.

Some of the surnames of individuals that Bachelder descendants married include: Albert, Almas, Alspaugh, Ambroy, Armstrong, Beaver, Boisjoli, Borioni, Calmon, Charrios, Clarke, Cornforth, Crozier, Cutrell, Dickson, Greene, Keena, Kirsh, Kober, Larson, Leland, Manzer, McConnell, McLachlan, Morris, Peterson, Rae, Richardson, Robinson, Shaffer, Sheldon, Sobush, Stout, Sumner, Tomlinson, Wedley, White, and others.

Would like to communicate with any one connected with Bachelders or researching individuals married to Bachelder descendants.

I am william Roy's great granddaughter

I am looking for Kathrine Rau who was married to Joseph Reuban Cornforth. I don't know if you have any info on this or not. If you do I would appreciate it.

I'm not sure if there is a connection or not, but did any of your Bachelder's fight in the Boer War and come back with only one arm. I live south and west of Luseland, Saskatchewan, on a farm originally settled by a Captain Bachelor (?). Does this ring any bells?

I farmed a half section of Bachalder (Bachelder) land near Empress, AB in the province of Saskatchewan. N1/2 of 9, 24, 28 W3. I purchased it in approx. 1977 or 1978 from a Mrs. Bacheldor's Estate.
