Hi, Syver Thompson is my Gramma's brother. My Gramma is Bertha McKinnon. I'm curious to know if you are related to the Family in any way? Just wondering who you are and how you found these 2 death records and all the other information you sent, as well. Especially my Dad's Uncle Syver?! You must be related somehow. Thanks.

Thanks. I've accounted for all the male members of the family and where they settled.

It's the females that are tricky, trying to find out who they married.

They're on the 1906 census, but after that they drop off the map.

I have "Lines of the Past - A History of Preeceville" as a reference, but there's nothing in there about Vincenti and his family, other than Karl and Frank.

Thought some of those female names might tweak someone's memory.

I've determined from the Passenger Lists that my great grandfather, Vincenti Gogal and family, came over from the Ukraine in 1903 on the Adria from Hamburg. I know my grandfather, Karl, and his brother Frank, settled in the Preeceville area.

But there were four sisters in the family that came over as well. Rather difficult to make out the exact names as they were written on the Passenger List, but I have been able to figure out that they were Daniela (17), Jaudocha (8), Tekla (6), and Marya (2). What happened to them I have no idea.

Was wondering if these names were familiar to anyone and if anybody might know who they ended up marrying.

Thanks!

Looking for any information about Jacob Houtz and his wife Annie Schaefer who lived near Stenen. I have them in the 1916 Census at "Townships 32, 33 and 34, range 3, W. 2. M., including the Village of Stenen". Jacob born about 1858 in Austria-Poland and Annie Schaefer born about 1860. I believe both died in Saskatchewan but dates unknown (after 1916).

They first appear in the 1900 US Census in Delaware, with census information giving a marriage date of about 1882 and immigration to US of 1892. They appear in the 1906 and 1916 Census of Saskatchewan with children John, William, Elena, Joseph, Jacob, Harry, and Ann. The census information gives a date of 1903 for immigration to Canada.

Any help much appreciated. Tom

Hi, What time frame are you researching re your father Kenneth MAYNOR in Orphanage / previously a school - in Yorkton, Pelly, Kamsack region of Saskatchewan.

Copies of the Register - may have been transferred to the Provincial Archive or to the Church Archive.

You may be able to search Census records for Saskatchewan - to 1916 either at Ancestry

Contact the Public Library - for Yorkton/ Pelly or Kamsack - they would know what Orphanages /Schools were in the area at the time.

Municipal Office or City Archive - may hold information.

You mention a number of names MAYNER, MAYNERD/MENARD/ MAYNARD -
Perhaps there is official paperwork re your father being fostered by Mr. Fred FIDDLES -if there is confussion about the correct spelling of your fathers surname.

Hi, I'm not sure,as am not too familiar with locations in Saskatchewan. Wadena, Humboldt, Paswegan, Quill Lake and Kelvington are some of the areas I believe the Evans family were connected with. Samuel Evans was also a homesteader, involved in building a school, a railway worker and may have had some connection with the Post Office at Paswegan. He seemed a very busy, hard working man.
Wow that would be so awesome!! Thank you. Yes mostly looking for documents for Mary rose. We are mostly wondering about her métis heritage. We knew that my husbands family is métis but were excited to learn it was possibly more métis in the bloodline than originally thought. We do have a bit information on Samuel Evans but not a lot of actual documents.
Our phone number is 604-277-6782
Our fax number 604-277-6792.
Thanks Tracy Radom

I have info on the Genaille family - parents of Mary Rose - which I assume is the line you are tracing - I am not sure who Samuel Evans' parents were at this point.

I can copy and fax info I have - let me know how to reach you directly.
Shirley

Hi I am currently doing my husbands family tree for his Metis application and during my research came across this post. Wondering if you have and more information on Samuel Evans (born 1870 in Stretford, Manchester, UK)and Mary Rose Genaille (born August 31, 1885 in Togo SK). We are decendants of their son Sam Evans(born July 25, 1921 in Wadena, SK). I am interested in locating copies of their marriage certificates and or baptismal certificates. The only siblings that we can recall names to are a Dorthy St. Goddard and Johnny Evans but there were more.
Thanks Tracy Radom
