Looking for any tidbit of information on this man. He was born 1881 in Sweden, immigrated to Minnesota in 1883 then on to Canada in about 1909. According to a write up in the Wadena history book he died in Wadena in 1945. He had one son, Vernnie, who moved to The Pas, Man. Vernnie's mother was Hannah Olson-Hanson. Hannah, in later years, I am told, ran a rooming house in Wadena. She passed away in BC in 1952.
Carl farmed around Hendon and for many years travelled the area with a stud horse servicing mares for other farmers.
I am trying to find his burial place. According to burial records, he is not in Wadena, Hendon, Wolverton. RM of Lakeview office say they do not have any records of him at Claire or Paswegin either.
Just thought I would put this out there in case someone remembers their older relatives speak of him.

Registration of death- not available for genealogical purposes for another 2-3 years.
Funeral homes-told me to get in touch with Town of Wadena (no records of Carl) or the RM of Lakeview for surrounding towns, cemeteries and keepers of burial records. In the process of doing that now but no luck so far.
Vernie Bernstrom, who did the writeup for the Wadena history book, passed away about 4 years ago.
Thanks for the info on Hannah- will see if I can make contact with Reginald Thompson or family.

Will try that, but doubt if they would have anything from that far back (1945)

The Wadena News began publication in 1929 I believe, and the Wadena Herald published 1908-1928.
