Looking for information for a Dr. DeSeers, who delivered my mother April 1922, probably East End

My mother was born April 24, 1922, probably in the area of East End. She will be celebrating her 93rd birthday this coming Friday. Her father was born in Kentucky, USA and her mother was born in Indiana, USA. He was an itinerant farmer and had traveled there to work.

In Feb 1984, I requested a search for her birth record with the Saskatchewan Health Dept and received a reply from same saying no birth record was found. I have since found court records in Spencer County, Indiana (Application to Establish Time and Place of Birth) dated June 22, 1942, that gives the physician's name who attended the birth as Dr. DeSeers.

Any information about Dr. DeSeers would be appreciated.

Jane

Hi Jane, He is mentioned on several pages in the Eastend history book, but the proper spelling is DeSerres. This is a link to the book, search it using DESERRES and click on the page numbers that show up. http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=6273 Knowing the proper spelling may help you. Butch

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to respond. The information in Range Riders and Sodbusters was more than I could have expected for it not only had mention of Dr. DeSeeres but my grandparents were one of the families mentioned, complete with a picture. See Roy Golliday, page 436. My grandmother's name was actually Ticha, but, close enough. The baby Roy is holding is most likely Bernard "Butch" born May 1921 and "later the girl" was my mother, Imogene, who as I mentioned in my original query will be 93 this Friday, April 24. I have printed page 436 and plan to show her the details of this book on her birthday. She will be absolutely amazed, guessing she might even shed a happy tear at seeing the picture. I think I'll not share the story of Dr. DeSeeres's death, at least not right now.

You brought quite a smile to my face this morning also.

Thanks again,
Jane

Jane, You made my day too. My own Mom was 99 on her last birthday so I know how important this stuff is to them. Give your Mom a hug for me. Butch

Butch, Will do. It's interesting that your name is Butch as Mom's brother was always called Butch. I never knew him since he died in a vehicle accident in Feb. 1945. Well wishes and hugs to your family.

Thanks again, Jane
