Thank you for sending this link.
"The Long Long Trail" published in 1967, does indeed contain one paragraph about our James Vernon Beghtel of Indiana...who migrated in 1920 to Saskatchewan and married Ilda Arvesta Hefner.

I can not imagine how many books you looked through to find this one...

Thank you for your help, your time and for finding Grandpa.
Yesterday, we got the obituary in the mail for his sister, Mary Bell Beghtel-Starner. And in that obituary, it is reported that he lived in "Windview, Canada". So if it were not for the kindness and outpouring of help from kind local folks like you, we would still be hunting.

We have sent away for his death record, have contacted the cemetery caretaker, and he gave us a digital photo of the headstone, and also told which funeral home was in charge of arrangements...

We only have the marriage record and obituary left to obtain and we can lay this burden down.

The medical information we are gathering, will not only help our daughter's doctors, but we are making sure to share this information with all the descendants who can use this.

Thank you...

Bud & Mary Ellen
