Hello everyone I am andrew Edwards and I live in Almeley, Herefordshire. In 1905 my great Aunty Alice Emigrated to Canada from Almeley to marry her future Husband John Lloys who had emigrated I beleive 4 years earlier. I have been over and visited many of the family and I had the pleasure of staying with Reg and Roy Lloys who were unbeleivably good to me. I was reading through the Autobiography of John Lloyd and about his Nursery and started to wonder what happened to ADANAC? does the place still exist?? Does the area Swarthmoor still exist?

Hi. Can't help you with your Family Tree unfortunately, but I can tell you that Swarthmoor still exists, if it is Swarthmoor, Cumbria. U.K. It is a small village just a couple of miles outside Ulverston. I am researching my husband's family [Thomas] and they come from there [originally from Cornwall though].

Best Wishes
Veronica

Hi Andrew. I am Kara Lloyd. My mother was Moira Lloyd. Her brothers are MIT and Ian and they are the children of earl and Catherine Lloyd. Earl's brothers were reg and Roy. My great uncles. We were very sad to see them pass on last year.
Adanac (Canada spelled backwards) is considered a ghost town now. The railroad did not go through it and so unity was more popular to the settlers. The town has a few structures. I've heard one guy actually lives out there but I've never seen him. The cemetery where our Lloyd plot is located is beautiful, small, and well maintained.
My grandma, Cay Lloyd, is still in unity in the nursing home now, so I'm still there often to visit. I would love to send you some pics of what remains, or a quick video.
Grandma told me when you were coming to visit but I wasn't able to make it. I've been looking for existing family in England, so I'm glad to see your post.
