Surnames: MARTEL,MARTELL, SASKAQUUWAY,SASKAQAWAY.. SAGATCHEWAY
Hi, What is the time frame?
You know Catherine / Kathleen - SASKAQUUWAY / SASKAQAWAY, SAGATCHEWAY
had children with ? Marcel MARTEL

Saskatchewan Vital Statistics Online - shows that a Marcel MARTEL - had 2 children with a Madeleine CARDINAL -in 1899 and 1902 - The site is not complete -

When / Where - were the children Born ?

What were the names - of the children. Did they marry - Names of spouse

All children have passed away - When / Where ?
Are there descendants of these children - they may hold some family information.

Registration of Death - depending on requirements of the time - and knowledge of the informant may be helpful.

I have begun a family tree and it is under Martell-Saskatchewan, Alberta ...I have all my mom sisters and brothers listed - they are all deceased. the tree is open to the public to see.

Marcel was born in Alberta - you will see all the extra records i found on his side. However, I cant find when he married Katherine or Kathleen as some people referenced her. She was after Madeline so not sure when that was but it would the 1930's area.

Greetings

Have a bit more information now...

The Marcil or Marcel Martell - Martell family shows up in Alberta. Not sure where they were before that. Have added lots on the tree for Marcel and his family. He went to war and there is an Emma on his war records and census with family in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and then a Madeline and the Katherine or Kathleen. Then I found records for Meadow Lake and Waterhen First Nation for both Marcel and Katherine. But Marcel has a sister Catherine too so just not sure. Also Cochin or Jackfish lake (sask) has records for Martels. My mum's obit says she was born in Cochin. My Mum is Malvina Martel - Daughter of Marcel and Katherine or Kathleen. I just found the Saskaquway, sagatcheway, sakatcheway family in northern Saskatchewan but there is no record just a mention. Also in this thread I see Kathrine referenced as Kathleen Bugler ??? That might be a hint. I also remember my foster family mentioning that they saw her Obit in the North Battleford paper back in 1985.

Thank you for all your help.

Don't know if this fits in with your time frame

We Must Remember - that the Spelling of the Surnames - Given names on the Census - is not always what we feel is correct - Much Depends on what the Enumerator hears - how he spells etc
Where there are Transcriptions - there can also be errors - persons transcribing - names as they see - rather than what is actually there -
