Hi everyone,
I am looking for information on the Hughes family which resided in Wolfestown Quebec prior to 1870. My Great Grandfather was born in the area and had a twin brother named John. I believe his fathers name was Thomas. The family ended up in Berlin, NH, US. The US Fed Census has a date of 1871. Any information you have is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jane

Wolfestown was a colloquial name for Saint-Julien, Wolfe County, QC. In checking the1740-1992 marriage registry for Wolfe County, I only found the following HUGHES with a father named THOMAS: Pierre-Joseph HUGHES (Thoma+Marguerite KEABLE) m. 1851.08.11 in Saint-Joseph to Adélaîde POULIOT (Reimon+Geneviève TURCOTTE. Hope this helps you out a bit.
