I am researching the John and Catherine (Vanderwerken)Fadden family. Specifically looking for Nathaniel Fadden and his wife Mary Williams children. I am also searching for any information on John Fadden born in 1796, son of above John Fadden. Also any information on Giddeon Hoppson and Margaret Fadden family. Joseph Fadden born in March 1795, and his wife, Rebecca Williams. James Fadden and his wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Taylor and their family. I do have the names of some of their children, but not all of them.

Also a Joseph Fadden born in 1813 at Wolf's Ridge. Where exactly is Wolf's Ridge. I know it's around Clarenceville somewhere. Joseph Fadden married a Laura Dugaul (Dugaulette) about 1830. I haven't found any information on this name at all.

I have amassed a great deal of information on this Fadden family, but am missing some of the details that make a good history.

I am willing to share my information with anyone interested in this family. I know they attended the Anglican and the Methodist churches in Missisquoi county.

Do you know if Nathaniel and Mary ever had a daughter named Catharine? I have a great-great-great grandmother named Catharine A. Fadden, born abt. 1810-1812 in Alburg, VT. She died December 25, 1895 and is buried in Milton, VT. Her husband was Henry A. Prentiss. I believe she was the granddaughter of John Fadden and Catharine Vanderwerken, but have been unable to determine which of their sons was her father. I have ruled out William, Comfort and Joseph, but not the rest of the boys. I would love to solve the mystery of her parentage. Can you help?

1796 John was not a descendent of 1754 John and Catherine VanderWerker Fadden, as many think. He is not listed on their family Bible page. According to a descendent of 1796 John, he came directly from Ireland.

Many also attribute a Thomas to 1754 John and Catherine. There is no Thomas on their family Bible page.

You can add to the children of Nathaniel and Mary Williams Fadden, a son, 1809 John. One of 1809 John's descendents has a copy of his second marriage license, and his parents and place of birth are listed.

The Joseph you mention is a grandson of 1754 John and Catherine.

I think I am also a descent of Nathanial and Mary Williams Fadden. Do you have a list of all their children? My great grandfather was a James Fadden, born around 1815 in Vermont and he was not the 1816 son James of James Fadden of Noyan,Que. My great grandfather was born extremely hard of hearing, and it is my understanding he was not brought up by his own parents, but by neighbors or relatives who had no sons. According to my late sister, a cousin had a paper that said our 1815 James was a son of Nathaniel and Mary, but I can find no evidence.
