Re: Magowan in Down Ireland
Hi Kat, I'm hoping that either Leota Dixon or Rebecca Kichta Miller will reply to your message & be able to help you. I'm afraid I have very little on my Magowan family. It would be wonderful if the photo Rebecca posted on this board turned out to be either 'your' Isabelle or related to her. Good luck with your research. Regards Jill Mance Nth Qld Australia.

Re: Magowan in Down Ireland
All I have on the Magowan family is that my grandmother's sister Isabella McFadden married Thomas McGowan. I have a copy of Isabella and Thomas's wedding invitation that was sent to my grandmother, but there is no date on it. So leaves me in the dark

We have McGowan's in our family tree from Champlain, NY. I found a Alexander McGowan born 1843 married Elizabeth Miner from Meriden or Windsor, CT. They had several children. Elizabeth born in May of 180 is my husband'd ggmother. She married Frank A. Devoid in 1898 and had 4 children. Her daughter Clemtine is my husband's grandmother. Elizabeth had four brother Amiddie, Abraham, Henry, Albert. and a sister Albertine. Any connection to your family?
