I'm here, but I did not find any information for you. Just want you to know someone is reading your message. Did you post it to the HEMINGWAY board and list also?

Hi Mary,

I know your message is a few months old now, and you are probably following new leads, but I just wanted to let you know the following.....

An Albina Hemingway married Alphonse Cote (Joseph + Malvina Therioux) June 07 1892 St-Hugues Quebec.

Joseph and Malvina were married January 22 1867 St-Hugues Quebec.

The St-Hugues you refer to is in the MRC les Maskoutains Monteregie.

See the map at :

http://www.bottinmaska.com/fr/cartes/

Now, Joan Soule Verdoorn is also researching the same line of Hemingways. See her web site at :

http://www.pedigreeforest.com/searchResults.php?surn=Hemingw...

A quick search at http://www.familysearch.org will give you many Quebec Hemingways with ancestral lineage.

From what I understand, Jedediah and Francoise had at least one son David who married Marguerite Babin (Charles + Francoise Giroux) in Vermont.

As far as your Thibault line, try :

Mrs. Pierette Thibault at : ptibo@sympatico.ca

or

Mrs. Jeannette Thibault at : nantibo@videotron.ca

as they are the Thibault specialists. Chances are that they can help you.

In regards to Rosalie Fortier, try :

http://familles.fortier.net/ang/listeang.htm

Also, I strongly suggest you to post your query in the Monteregie general board. I saw your query in the Richelieu GenWeb, and for best results, post it again in the Monteregie board, as Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean is not the right one.

If you want, let me know if some of this is useful to you.

Happy hunting,

Esther

I just saw your inquiry about Jedediah Hemingway. I just started building a family tree on FTM. I have a Jedediah in my line. He married Francoise Thibault in St._Hugues January 16, 1844. They had daughter Angelique who married Magliore Crepeau. Their son Louis Anthanese Crepeau emigrated to the U.S. in 1865 at the age of 16 and married Catherine Devoe.

Hello!
Thank you for your reply.
I have been researching for Jedediah for many years.
My information is a little different:
Jedediah Hemingway b03 Aug 1783 married for the second time on 18 Sep 1818.
He was a widower with five sons.
He married Francoise Thibault and one of their many children was Angelique.
I would be most interested in determining your connection to Jedediah. He is my direct line and I am trying to find his birth parents.

The only other information that I have on Jedediah is that he was born circa 1768 in either Ireland or New England. Given that name it sounds like he is of English background so his family may have gone to Canada from New England during the Revolution. That's just a guess of course. I also have him marrying Francoise Thibault in St.-Pierre-de-Sorel on 19 Sep 1819. That may have been why he picked up the name Pierre. We could search RootsWeb and maybe find his family around New England.
