Acadian settlers in St. Ours

Acadian settlers in St. Ours

I am trying to trace the path of Acadians Joseph Gaudet (1717-1809) and wife Marie-Anne Bourgeois (1736-1808) from their home in Port Royal, where they lived before the Expulsion, to St. Ours, where they were living by 1768 when a son was born there. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thank you!

They had two daughters baptized at Varennes, Vercheres County, Quebec before their son Jean Baptiste's baptism at St-Ours in 1768:

Rosalie (born 14 February 1764)
Marie Louise Dorothee (born 22 November 1765)

Their sons Felix and Amable were born earlier, but I'm not sure where.

You can find this family group (and my notes) at my Gaudet Genealogy web site at http://arslanmb.org/gaudet/gaudet.html. Joseph Gaudet is #2339 in my database.

This couple lived at Beaubassin, not Port-Royal, at the time of the Expulsion.

Thanks for the info. I quickly found the baptismal records for Rosalie and M Louise Dorothee in the Varennes parish registers. I also found the burial record for son Joseph who died 28 Jun 1765 in Varennes.

I am going to look into your web site as soon as I can. I'm particularly interested in seeing what evidence you've found that the parents were living in Beaubassin at the time of the expulsion.
