There have been posts regarding this couple and other Quesnel's from St-Anicet on these message boards including one by a friend of mine.

Since Ancestry had the Drouin images for free I decided to do some checking around and translate what I find. I was hoping to find a baptism record where one of the godparents was a brother/sister of Elisabeth with the filiation listed. It's uncommon but does happen. I didn't find any. In retrospect, I should have also been looking at all weddings involving Quesnels as one might have Elisabeth as a witness which might also note filiation.

I think the following is accurate but I could have missed a a baptism. I also noted a few burials but I wasn't really looking for them.

The records are all from St-Anicet. You'll note Elisabeth used Josephte at first but it's clearly the same person.

This one is different that the usual stuff so I wrote it all out. VERY interesting!
This January 8th, 1871, we priest undersigned, in virtue of the authority of Monseigneur Bourget, bishop of Montréal accept the declaration of faith of Joseph Génier, legitimate son of Honoré Génier and Elisabeth Quesnel aged 21 years old of this parrish and have absolved him of heresy. Then we baptized him. Godfather is Etienne L'Equyer and godmother is Catherine Lemay who, like the parents of the new christian stated they could not sign.

Note, 2 days later he got married to Victoire L'Equyer (daughter of Etienne L'Equyer and Catherine Lemay). Honoré WAS present for the wedding.
