Re: Christ Church Anglican, Sorel Quebec
Thank you Kathleen for your reply. With the marriage date you gave me for Hugh Convery & Agnes Forsyth, I will continue to search. I don't care to enter it in my tree without a source. I do have a bit more information on their children as follows: 1. Hugh - same as listed above 2. Michael - B. 1830, died 1914 Detroit, Michigan. It is Michael, not Robert, that married Elanor (Leanore) Matte. 3. Jane - B 16 Dec 1831; D 20 July 1832 4. Isabella - B 16 May 1834 D ? married ? Simmons 5. Ann - B 11 April 1837 D? Marr. Re: Christ Church Anglican, Sorel Quebec
Thanks again Kathleen. I had looked at that entry but hesitated adding the information since it didn't list parents or ages. It appears Richard was a retired Military man as his pension request was on Ancestry. Found this family in the 1861 Canadian Census. Other than that they are very elusive.

Re: Christ Church Anglican, Sorel Quebec
Was just looking through my genealogy info again and came across your post. I believe that Hugh Convery married to Agnes was my Great Grandfather's (Micheal m to Jane) brother! The information I have on them came from a lady in Quebec. My ggrandparents were married by the banns in Christ Church in Sorel Quebec. I also have the names of some of their children from there as well that agree with the information that I have collected over the years. My father always used to say that his grandfather came from Scotland. I have not been able to get back any farther than my ggrandparents marrying in Quebec. I am thinking that Hugh and Micheal came over on the same ship, but which one and landed where?

Re: Christ Church Anglican, Sorel Quebec
Thank you for your reply re: Hugh Convery and his wife Agnes Forsyth. Yes I have Hugh and Michael as brothers. In fact I have more information on your Michael than I have on our Hugh. Hugh is my husband's 3rd g grandfather. Hugh & Michael married sisters. Have you read the "Biographical Sketch" written by himself Thomas Forsyth Jr. May 26, 1898. In it he states the Forsyths sailed from Greenrock on the ship Commerce in the Spring of 1820 - parents & 7 children. It took them 14 weeks & 4 days to reach Quebec. I do not know when the Converys came and I do not have Hugh & Michael's parents. Maybe they came without their parents? So many questions yet to get answered. Thanks again. Judy
