Re: Mégantic County, Québec, Catholic Church Marriages 1845-1925
Dear Linda, I would appreciate a look up of Elizabeth McIntyre. She was born January 15 1855 in Inverness Quebec(megantic County) In 1871 she is living with her parents in Inverness. In 1881 census she is not there. They were Catholic and most likely she got married between 1871 and 1881. Her parents were Francis Mcintyre and Bridget Campbell.
Also her brother Patrick Mcintyre who was born in Ireland in 1846 and was in 1871 census in inverness with parents. I have not been able to locate either one of these after 1871 census. your help would be appreciated. tom mcintyre

Not sure if this will help you, but in the book A History of Megantic County: Downhomers of Quebec's Eastern Townships there is both a Campbell and McIntyre family that moved to Island Pond, Essex County, Vermont. This family name was listed under Megantic County & St. Sylvestre Families to New England 1850's - 1920's.
Did by chance your Bridget Campbell have a relative of Bessie Campbell?

Re: Mégantic County, Québec, Catholic Church Marriages 1845-1925
I've hit a brick wall in my search for my Irish Cassidy ancestors. I found them in the 1881 Canadian Census in Ste Julien de Wolfestown, Richmond & Wolfe Co. I have been of the belief that they arrived about 1850 from Ireland and their two eldest daughters, Isabella and Bridget, were born in Ireland before their departure. Sons, John, Dennis and Jimmy show birthplace as Wolfestown and daughter, Ann and Theresa as well. All of a sudden it has hit me that there is a possibility they arrived earlier and settled in Upper or Lower Ireland in Megantic County before moving to Wolfe. They probably would have listed Ireland as their birthplace. Am wondering if you have anything on your CD regarding John or Mary (Marie?) Watts Cassidy, Isabella or Bridget.
Thanks - Nancy
