Hi Denyse,

I am also looking for the parents of my great-grandfather, Noah Guay, who immigrated to the United States in the late 1800's from Quebec. His wife was Celia Bellier before marriage. I have no idea what Noah's parents' names were, but I know they were French-Canadian and lived in Quebec and at least a few generations had been there by then.

Sorry to reply to your comment so tardily, but I just realized there were replies. (Technology, jeesh.:)

Thanks so much.

Thanks, Chris. I found that she used Josephine Belair (her middle name perhaps) or maybe she started using Zelia/Celia, but went back to her real first name? I've since found census records I know are her because of other family living with her that I know did.

I'm still looking for Noah's parents, however. I may need to get more serious about the records in Quebec. I have one remaining relative on that side whom I have contacted, but she hasn't responded and is very elderly, so who knows?

Well, again, thanks for the help.
