Joseph Armstrong d.1874 & Jane Elliots d. aft 1881 (protestants)
HI, I am looking for information on the Death records of Joseph Armstrong (Protestant) who is said to have died on May 27, 1874. Also the death of Jeanne (Rebecca Jane) Elliot who died after the 1881 census and probably after the death of her husband in 1898. She was also Protestant. I have checked the local protestant church records in Berthier and have found nothing. I have also checked the church record for Christ Church in Sorel and have come up empty. Are there other Protestant churches in the area I can check Other information: Joseph was the child of Jesse Armstrong and Hannah Carr Crocker. He married Marie Anne Brissette. Rebecca Jane was the child of Simon Elliot and Rebecca Armstrong. She married Onezime Pierre 'Eugene' Provost. I would really appreciate any direction on this matter. Thanks, Becky

Besides Berthier and Sorel, there was a Protestant church in Louiseville, Maskinonge County which opened in 1821. The Protestants from the Maskinonge area are usually found buried in Louiseville, a small adjacent municipality.
May I suggest that you might like to check the parish vital records available on Ancestry.CA and Ancestry.com; those are the Drouin microfilms (up to 1941 for most parishes). The Protestant records of the Maskinonge area are not yet published in book form, so your best bet would be the microfilms.

You can find Joseph Armstrong's death record at Kildare St-John's Anglican church.
I hope that can help,
