Hi, in the 1901 census it gives Adolphe's birthday as April 22, 1852. If you write to the Archives Nationales du Quebec you can give them his name and birthdate and they will send out a copy of his birth/baptism certificate which will name his parents. They only charge $0.25 per page plus shipping.

Hi, I am researching my family of SALLUR. One of our spellings is SAILLEUR. My G.G.Grandfather came from Calais in France, Charles Robert SAILLEUR. Do you have any connections with France.

Cheers Cassie

Hi Cassie -

Sorry - does not appear to be France connection for this Sailleur line. Quite a surprise to me! As it turns out - the name is most probably SAWYER and English in origin. The spelling in 1881 Quebec census (Sailleur) is phonetic.

Intersting blurg on that at this link..

Hi Claire - thank you so very much..

Jean Sayer / son of Georges & Marguerite Forlinperg
Marriage : 30 august 1784, Charlesbourg
Charlotte Lirette / daughter of Louis & Marie-Anne Leroux

I am very interested in Jean, this is the first time I have ever seen a reference to his parents. Do you have an image of his marriage to Charlotte?

Any other reference to his parents, possibly his baptism or their marriage? I have read that some think Jean may actually be a John Sawyer from Massachusets..
