Re: Saint Tite Quebec and Lowell, MA
Thank you for all the help I appreciate this so much. I know that Eugene Brouillette married Arcade's sister Estudienne Veillette who where childless and this couple raised Arcade's and Philomene's 3 boys (Arther, Georges Jean, my grandfather and Leopold lucien) after Philomene and Arcade split and he died in St Tite QC, I found Philomene Smith Veillette in a census as widowed, I also found somewhere she was or her parents were from Rockland, VT or NH but I could not find a city in these states, could it be Rockland county NY .. And how do I find her birth records, parents and death? Our family was always told she went down with the Titanic under a alais.. any help would be appreciated

Re: Saint Tite Quebec and Lowell, MA
I do not know about these names : Hermine and Philomene , I have always been told that her name was Philomene and on documents in Lowell,MA she is listed as Philomene. I looked up the french translation to Hermine, She may have had many names as my father name was George Joeseph Ethienne and maybe Henri Veillette but his mother and siblings called him Ethienne and when he immigrated to the states he was called George and he did not ever use all the other names on legal documents.. I can see why I am having problems finding Philomene Smith.
Arcade Veillette : question?? I may have wrong parents down as I went on nosoringines.qc.ca and born 1869 and found his parents as Alexis Veillette and Adelaide St.Arnaud but I have parents as Francois and Germaine . I contacted another Ancestry member but all her info is private and I do not have luck with her contacting me even though I shared my public photos with her,, I do not get it why people are the way they are.. Thanks to all tnat have helped me.. especially know that I am not felling well.

Re: Saint Tite Quebec and Lowell, MA
You are right concerning Arcade's parents;I have corrected the mistake. Also, Philomène Smith was born in Vermont, not Canada.
I have also corrected Arcade's date of birth and place of death, which were both wrong.
As to Hermine/Philomène: either the priest in Saint-Tite got the name wrong, or she went by both names. I cannot tell.

Re: Saint Tite Quebec and Lowell, MA
Marriage record Dec.30,1888 Lowell, MA, Arcade Viellette age 19, born April 8, 1869, parents Francois and Elmire Viellette married Philomene Smith, age 17, born Rockland, Vermont to George and Mary Smith. (Note spelling on marriage record) Philomene Veillette (widow of Arcade) is listed in the Lowell City Directories in 1899 living at same address, 82 Prince St., as Elmire Veillette (widow) who would be her mother-in-law, I think. Elmire appears in City directories from 1881 to 1903. No death record in MA found for her. Guessing she may have returned to Canada. According to 1900 Census record for her son, Lucien and wife, Ernestine (Villeneuve) Veillette, the family entered the U.S. in 1879. Another Ancestry Veillette Family Tree mentions Philomena death on Titanic but has her foreign born. U.K. I think.
