Antoine Brunet and Salome Proulx are buried in Curran ontario , that is near Plantagenet. They had one son that I know Edouard he was my great grand father and theres is one son and one daugther that are buried in the same lot .Eudoxie Brunet Dubois 18 , Adelard Brunet 16.The cemetry is behind the church

Also, I checked out the Thyfault descendants and could find no Canadian/Indian bloodlinere, so I am wondering if you can tell me why my grandmother Leah and her brother Alfred, my father and myself have the rather olive coloring and the exotic eyes/cheekbones suggesting a French/Canadianindian heritage?

Any ideas? By the way, I am very proud of my cheekbones, eyes and lightly colored olive complexion though my mother was very Nordic...

Herminengilde Archambault was my great-great grandmother; and her daughter Hermaine Mailloux (who married Narcisse Thyfault) , died in St. Anne, IL was my great-grandmother;

Hermaine's daughter Leah Thyfault(married to Charles J. Fiala) was my grandmother; her son Charles J. Fiala Jr. was my father. I lived in St. Anne Il in 1948 and again in 1955 where Hermaine Mailloux is buried.

My grandmother Leah was a Thyfault who was born of the Mailloux and Archambault families who came from Canada (Arcadia) and settled in Kankakee, IL, and surroundings where the farmland was rich, and then some of them moved South to Louisiana and I suspect became part of the Cajuns (a corruption of Acadians).

Any information you may have would be greaty appreciated.

I am looking for information on the family of Isidore Lavigueur and Flavie Major. They lived in Ponsonby in 1911. Their children were Alda (married Charles Hudson), Phileas born around 1888,(married Sylema Reguire), Armand 1897, Arthur 1898, Elizabeth 1878, Exina 1891, Noe 1884, Odilas 1892 and Priscille 1880. I would like any information about how to find marriages, and cemetery information. I am writing for my cousin, whose husband is the grandson of Charles and Alda Hudson.

M.Anne Brunet married Joseph Presseau about 1740 in ? Ste. Eustache. I don't know their parents. I am a Archambault descendant in 1600's, but now I researching Brunet & Presseau.

According to a book on the "Parc Linéaire du P'tit train du nord", between 1896 and 1908 there was a wood mill owned by Andrea Villani, along the Rivière Rouge, in the municipality of Canton Marchand, and Italian peoples were employed by him. The mill burned in 1908. For more informations I think you can write to Société du Patrimoine de la Vallée de la rouge, 7393, BOUL CURÉ LABELLE APP 50 CP 742 , LABELLE QC, J0T 1H0.

I was curious, because I known where Canton Marchand is. And I also that there is a portion of the rivière rouge were the current is fast and that place is called "le rapide des italiens"
(italian's rapid). So on the site "www.ingeneas.com" you can find the names of your ancestors, and according to the census of 1901, there was 3 Poloni and on that site you also can ordered ($) copy of the civil records.

Giovanni born 1866 in Italy and Alphano Poloni born 1873 in Italy are listed in the 1901 Census of Canada. Both were married but I do not know the names of their spouses. Their address states Marchand Municipality, Labelle County, Quebec. Occupation given as wool maker and woodcutter.

Was or is there still a wool manufacturer in Marchand Municipality?????????

The Giovanni Poloni that I am researching was in Quebec at lease until 1905. Then Giovanni moved to the Silver country of Cobalt Ontario. His wife and child, Ernest Leo followed in 1910.

How can I confirm that these two Giovanni Poloni are the same person???????????

How can I learn the arrival date into Canada???????

Raymond I would like to know if you have found anything on Jean Batiste Arbeck I think that how he spelled he's. He was married to a Angelic Pilon Jan 2 1813 in St Benoit.

What would you like to know ? I have fairly extensive files on all Arbics and Arbiques but they are not complete by any means.
Adelard Joseph Arbique was born Jan 10 1873 in Oka,P.Q.of Cyrille and Valerie Chenier, her 2nd marriage and his 1st, Married Aug 1 1893 in Notre Dame de Laus. He had three children as far as I know ,with her , Hector, Moise, Donat. I have marriages for each of them. He had a 2nd marriage which produced 5 children.
I do not have Elmire from the 1st marriage so you can give me the details of her birth ,marriage etc. if you will.

James Lees d. swimming accident

Hello,
I am looking for information on a swimming accident that happened 1929-1931. My Great uncle and grandfather were diving and swimming at a lake near Macaza. My great uncle James LEES 18 yrs old, broke his neck and died on the way to the hospital.

Would anyone know how I might find out what newspapers were published there at that time, so I might research for info.

My father was Gontran Brunet, his father Donat Brunet and his grand-father Regis.
I am Louise Brunet and I am now living in Vancouver.
Moved here 2 years ago from Quebec.
Hawksbury, Labelle are all name that I heard in my family gathering.

Hermenigilde Archambault, born 18 Sep 1831 in Acadia, died in 1905 in Minnesota, married Leon H. Mailloux, also born in Acadia and died in Minnesota.

Their daughter Hermaine Mailloux born 17 March 1855 in St Anne, IL., (died 16 December 1922 in Chicago, IL), married Narcisse Jr. Thyfault from St Marie, Quebec born 6 June 1853, died in Chicago 2 April 1917.

Narcisse Jr Thyfault and Hermaine nee Mailloux were the parents of my grandmother Leah Thyfault who lived and died in St Anne, IL.. in 1965.

So, through my grandmother's maternal side, I am related to the Archambaults' of Acadia and the Maillouxs' of Acadia.

If anyone has more information, I would love to hear from you.

I am the grand-daughter of Marie-Louise Rita Allard born in LAnnonciarion (Canton Marchand) location in Labelle county Qu/bec. Her father was Henry son of Dosithee Allard and Melanie Brunet married in Curran ontario in 1874(Prescott county) their parents were Joseph Allard and Marie Grenier& Antoine Brunet and Salome Proulx. I was told by my grand mother that Melanie was an adopted child. Her parents were natives and she was a princess daughter of a band chief. Can anybody confirm this or give more informations.

I am looking for descendants of Marie-Louise Brunet married at L'Annonciation, county Labelle, Quebec on Jan. 8, 1902 tp Ferdinand Archambault.

Marie-Louise Brunet was the daughter of Louis Brunet and Louise (Elouise) Vincent. Marie-Louise was born Nov. 21, 1886 and bapt. Nov. 23, 1886 at St-Alphonse De Liguori, Hawksbury, Prescott County, Ontario.

Her mother -Louise (Elouise) Vincent died before 1889 at Vankleekhill, Prescott County, Ont. Her father - Louis married a 3rd time to Celina Ouellet at L'Orignal, Ont on Jan. 21, 1889. Two sons were born at Curran - Louis, Jr. and Adelard before they moved to L'Annonciation, County Labelle, Quebec about 1897.

My grandfather - Charles Boromee Brunet was born in Labelle County on April 14, 1899. As well 3 more girls were born - Olivine (1901), Georgina (1905) and Marie-Rose-Delia (1907).

No printed record has been found for Charles Boromee. In the 1901 census the family was found under Marchand, county Labelle, Quebec.

Where is "Marchand" located? Is it a town or a township?

Over the years my grandfather always stated he was born at L'Annonciation, County Labelle, Quebec.

I would really like to make contact with the Archambault family.
