I am also a Marcelais/Marsolais. I've been doing research on the family for a few years. My family immigrated from the L'Assomption area of Quebec to Massachusetts. Would be interested in comparing notes!

Sincerely,
Jenn Marcelais

Hi Jenn,

I am happy to ear from you. At a time, I worked on the genealogy of the family until 1600. I had a cousin of mind to continue the gathering of information. I remember quite a lot by heart.

I would be happy to continue our contacts in order to give you the information you need.

Tell me about the Marsolais that left l'Assomption and went to Mass. This will permit me to identify the branch they come from.

I have given my e mail, so do not hesitate to get in contact with me.

Regards,

Denis Marsolais

I am also looking for some information about the Marsolais my great Aunt Margaret married a Joseph Marsolais they resided in Schnectaday but my Aunt was orginally from Watervleit which is right near Cohoes. I spoke to a few Marsolais from the surrounding area in Albany and Latham and they confirmed there are two different families of Marsolais one from Cohoes area and one from the Latham area. Can you please get back to me I having been trying to locate some kind of connection for about two years now I finally received my great great grandfathers death cert. and its has her married name and Marsolais and I found them on the 1920 and 30 census. Thanks.

Hello Lisa

My name is Richard Marsolais, the oldest with 3 sisters and 1 brother. My fathers name is Roland Marsolais who grew up in the Cornwall Ontario sector of Canada. Norman I believe is my fathers brother from a family of eleven or tweleve. My mother is from Holland and they divorced when I was 7. There was no child support and my mother did a nice job.
