I am from the Klapproth family in Wisconsin. Our family emigrated from the Harz Mtn area - a little village called Gittelde.

Connie: I'm writing to you from a very old post...over 10 years old...but I just found your message and it concerns persons I have learned are my 4X great grandparents. In the Drouin records I found baptisms for children born to this couple named Catherine (1789), Louis 1794, Augustin (1801), Joseph (1802) and Isaie(1805). The two I am most closely related to are Catherine and Louis.
I have not been able to find a marriage for Jean Frederic and Marie Anne Labrie but I did find a burial for Marie Anne in 1811.
Any information beyond what I have stated would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello
Its been a few years for my reply but honestly I gave up'
My Grandfather was Karl Klapproth who was a clerk of courts between the first and second world war
The other Klapproth was a coffee merchant I believe according to my mother.

I would like to hear from you if you have a similar story. It would be fantastic to know if we are family
