Hi, Massachusetts marriage records 1840-1915 (at ancestry) has

Euclid Dupre age 21, wheel maker, born Canada, married Angelina Montville age 18 , reed worker, born Canada- marriage date May 21, 1894 Garden, MA
his father Andrew, mother Rossela Perry, her father Henry, mother Louise Befford
first marriage for both

I took a look and their marriage record is also online at familysearch.org - Massachusetts, marriages 1841-1915

from this info I looked for bapt. for Euclid and Angelina in Canada - you show Euclid born St. Cesaire, but I found his bapt. in St-Guillaume-d'Upton, Yamaska

March 25, 1873 baptism of Joseph Euclyde, , of legitimate marriage of Andre Dupre and Rosalie Pirier (hard to read but close to this) of this Parish. Sponsors Andre Dupre and Agnes Daline (Maline ?)

I guess Perry was the anglicized version of mother's maiden name.

I see that 1900 census shows Euclid as immigrating 1875 and living with him is a brother Joseph born July 1874 Canada and a sister Leah age 15 born July 1884 MA - for some reason Joseph and Leah both show parents born Finland, but that could be an error by the enumerator as there are quite a few people on the page with same info. Also Joseph shown immigrating 1877
if the immigration years are correct or close, then they should be in US in 1880 census.

I tried to find Euclid with parents in 1880 census but no luck yet.

I did find another baptism of a child of Andre and Rosalie - a Medard bapt. July 23, 1874 so wonder if this is the Joseph in 1900 census above. In this Rosalie's maiden name is very clearly Poirier

and Virginie Dupre bapt. July 5, 1876 - same parents

this does seem to be the right family as there are several marriages in MA that seem to have these same parents
Virginia Dupre 17, married Felix Montville 24, May 21, 1894 (same day as Euclid and Angelina) Gardner, MA - her father Andrew, mother Rossela Perry, his father Henry, mother Louise Befford
I didn't notice them before as they are on the next page from Euclid & Angelina (who are at bottom of one page, Virginia at top of next)

Virginia Dupre Montville as married age Oct. 13, 1902 to Henry Montville - his 1st marriage, her 2nd. For some reason this entry shows her born Maine? parents Andre Dupre and Rosalie Paine - his parents Joseph Montville and Delia Perron (so he is not brother to Felix)

there is also a Prosper Dupre age 23, born Canada father Andrew, mother Rosalie Poirier, married May 23, 1893 Ware, MA to Marie L. Demarais age 19, born Canada, parents names not shown

Regis Dupre age 22, born Baltic, Vermont, father Andrew, mother Rose Perry, married June 1, 1891 Ware, MA to Regina Lucier age 17, born Canada father Alexis, mother Mary Joyal
so was the family in US before going back to Canada and then back to US ?

there is a birth in MA records for Mary Lea Dupre born 1884 Ware, MA to Andrew and Rosalie Dupre
Leah Dupree age 28, born Ware, father Andrew mother Rosalie Poivier married William Parents age 24, born Oakdale, father Andrew mother Delphine Thibideau - marriage date Oct. 1, 1912 Leominster, MA

Joseph Dupree age 34, born Canada father Andrew Dupree, mother Rosalie Poirier, married Maria Charron age 27, born Quebec father Etienne Charron mother Vergini Garvais - marriage date Jan. 25, 1909 Leominster, MA

and Stanislas Dupree age 25, born Canada father Andrew mother Rosalie Porier, married Malvina Lavigne age 19 born Johnsonville, NY father Victor mother Marcelien Carlier - marriage date Feb. 4, 1895 Gardner, MA

OK - now I see why I could not find them in 1880 US census, they were still in Canada in 1881
1881 ST. CESAIRE, ROUVILLE, QUEBEC
DUPRE
Andre, age 35
Rosalie, age 35
Regis, age 13
Prospere, age 10
Stanislas, age 10
Euclide, age 8
Joseph, age 6
Virginie, age 5
Adelina, age 3
Alfred, age 1
and Regis is shown born United States, so are Adelina and Alfred, all the rest born Quebec
there are some Poirier family on same page - with son Alfred born about 1880 US I thought they "might" be in US 1880 census but still cannot find them there so they may have missed it in returning to Canada

I'm wondering if Alfred could be also named Paul as there is a Paul Dupre born Oct. 24, 1880 Southbridge, MA to Andre and rosalie (Panier) - her name hard to read so could be Porier?

and also found a Mary L. Dupre born Ware, MA Oct. 23, 1882 to Andrew and Rosalie - no surname for mother shown
I did not find a Dupre girl who could be Adelina

there is a death of an Andrew Dupre age 48, died June 13, 1888 Ware- of a fractured spine - where it asks for parents names, its empty

and a death for a Rosalie Dupre age 43, died Oct. 16, 1890 Ware - of heart disease, father Isail Perier, mother Marie - once again the writing is not good so hard to read the proper name of Isail Perier - I suppose it could be Israel?

I can look for the bapt. of the other Dupre children born Canada if you would like - let me know.

I just found Euclid's death record at familysearch which shows his death as June 4, 1954 Yakima, WA and parents as Andrew Dupree and Rosalee Poirier so another confirmation of their names.

Thank you very much - this is very helpful and consistent with other information I have been able to gather. If you could find baptisms for the other Dupre children that would be great.
Have you ever been in contact with Denis Dupre?

Hi again,
I am not related to your Dupre family, so no, I do not know Denis.

Here are some bapt. I found for children of Andre/Andrew and Rosalie

ST-GUILLAUME-d'UPTON

July 23, 1874 baptism of Medard, born this day of legitimate marriage of Andre Dupre, cultivator and of Rosalie Poirier. Sponsors Joseph Caron and Marie Frenette

July 5, 1876 baptism of Virginie, born the previous day of legitimate marriage of Andre Dupre and Rosalie Poirier. Sponsors Joseph Dupre and Marie Asselin

ST. CESAIRE, ROUVILLE

October 24, 1869 baptism of Prosper, born the previous day of legitimate marriage of Andre Dupre and Rosalie Porier. Sponsors Isidor Poirier and Clemence Masse

next entry on page

Oct. 24, 1869 baptism of Stanislas , born the previous day of legitimate marriage of Andre Dupre and Vitaline Poirier. Sponsors Gregoire Poirier and Marie Ann Faisey.

Yes, that is how it is shown - why Vitaline? A mistake by the Priest???

The death entry for Rosalie at familysearch is slightly different than at ancestry - probably a different transcription - this one shows her father as Isaih Poirier, mother as Marie but it says Rosalie's husband was Henry - I saw that in the entry at ancestry also - but noticed in the image that it looked like it had been added at a later time - I doubt if it is correct but wanted to let you know it is there. Her age, place of death and maiden name all seem to fit for your Rosalie.

It seems that Regis was their first child (unless they had any before him who died) and Regis was apparently - according to his marriage - born in VT so since I cannot find a marriage for Andre and Rosalie in Quebec, they may have married in VT.

OK, I just found another couple living in Ware, MA - Henry & Rosalie Dupre, so it may just be that the death for Rosalie IS another woman?? Sorry for confusing things.

I seem to be stuck at this point, not finding anything more.
