If any one could help, it would be appreciated. My Great Grandfather was moses Duvall ( later spelled with one L.) he was born on 11 Mar 1824 ( possibly in Quebec) I have no idea who his parents are.
He married Mary Jane Brown and they had a son
William B Duval ( do not know where William was born ~ but think in Ontario as he was baptised at 13 days old at the St. Josephs church at Chatham, Ontario.)
I have searched 1850 Ontario census for that area with no results. ( most of the film was too dark to read)
The Catholic church he was baptised in had No information as to Moses & Mary Janes marriage. so they felt they may only have either been passing through the area at the time, or only lived there a short time. Moses in 1862 was in the US.
Mary Jane disappeared from view. in 1865 Moses re-married and raised a large family on a ranch in Nevada, where my Father was born.
If anyone has any leads ~ or ideas where & how I might search. please respond. have hit that famous brick wall.
