I am doing my husband's ancestry. His 4 times great grandmother was born in Canada. She married Isaac Prentice in Quebec, Philipsburg in the 1830's. I have no idea how to find out her family tree. in fact I am having trouble finding anything about Isaac as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi:

Maria Martin (vs Maritin) married Isaac on 3 March 1831 not 1830 in Philipsburg.

The database I have used does not show their parents' names nor the parish where they were married. THis may have been a civil marriage. Do you know to what religious denomination they were associated?

I cannot find marriage records for their children.

It is essential to determine who her parents were in order to go back further with the famialy tree.

Typo, it should say Martin. I was able to see it before, but for some reason it won't show up now. But I found it in the Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967. I could see the actual book, very hard to read. It was an Anglican church in Philipsburg. Their one child Fletcher married a girl named Columbia Ann Clark. It seems that Maria and Isaac moved around a lot. I think I found at one point that their first child was born in Canada. Thank you for all your help. Kristy Pauley
