Carolyn,

I have a wealth of information thanks to you. Using Acestry.com I’ve been able to find the Stansfelds for which you have given the vitals. My wife’s ancestor, Georgeina Maria Stansfeld, should show up as an interesting figure.

My wife’s maternal grandparents were French Canadian. And, my wife’s grandmother had spoken of her English great-grandmother. I found that not only was she Anglican-English, she was born and baptized in England. Further I found that a brother and a sister born to Georgeina (Stansfeld) and Paul Durand were ancestors on both my wife’s paternal and maternal lines.

I plan to use many of the people you have pointed out as part of Georgeina’s entry in the family history. An interesting point about Georgeina’s father—David Stanfeld’s fortune/occupation changed from merchant (through 1826), gentleman (1829), to farmer (1830 and 1831). That Georgeina’s younger sister—Ann, the surviving twin—lived with the Durands (1851 Census) is most interesting. I’ll try not to make too much of these things, but these bits of history should make for attention-grabbing reading.

I do appreciate your effort and must let you get back to your own research.

Regards,
Bob Fleck
